New friends

Hyunjin and I settled down to play uno while watching a movie.
He brought us some juice and snacks while I prepared the games and the movie.
The balcony was opened letting the warm summer breeze in.
It felt like we were in those teenage summer movies but with just a lack of people.
"Uno!"
I laugh at him taking a sip of my drink.
His face was written with disgust but soon it changed into a delicate eye smile.
"It's not fair Ji!"
I laugh but the sudden nickname cut across my stomach.
It reminded me of Jeongin and Han.
I wonder if there's a possibility of having nights like these with no one being left out.
I want to know why did Han say that.
"Minji? Are you okay? You don't like the nickname?"
Bringing my focus back to him my lips curve.
"No no, I like it. I just remembered something."
"Okay then."
We were sitting on the floor right now still playing Uno.
I was winning. So many jokes spread around and laughter was unstoppable.
Buzzing on my thigh made me stop laughing.
It was my mom again.
I stand up and excuse myself but I trip over a juice bottle.
It caught me off guard sending me to the floor and on Hyunjin.
Before my head could reach the ground his soft hand was on my head, like a pillow.
Again, we were just a few holly inches from kissing.
My hand on his shoulder felt his muscles tensing.
His skin was cold at first touch but also very warm.
His face gained some red color as he stirred underneath me.
The phone was still ringing reminding me what I needed to do.
Stumbling up to my legs I went a few meters away from him.
-Where are you?-
Mom's words echoed through the phone.
-Not far away. Did you come home?-
-Spending money?-
-Of course not.-
-Good.-
Then she hangs up. What a caring mother.
I come back to where I was sitting before while Hyunjin sat with his legs crossed and hands behind supporting him.
His eyes followed my every move.
It was appalling. I had to say it.
Currently, it was 10:34 pm.
"When are you leaving?"
His eyes were filled with something unknown.
Something strong, but also sad.
"Tomorrow morning, the plane flight is at 9."
I could feel his hand shifting behind me.
"I'll try to find you Minji."
The heat was rising to my cheeks now.
"We'll see. I won't be for long in Philadelphia."
His hand was now on mine.
His heat radiated to me.
The tension between us grew tighter.
The only thing I was focused on was him.
Hyunjin slowly moved towards me.
I stopped breathing.
His blonde locks reached just above my nose.
He moved his eyes across my face.
He looked at my lips and back to my eyes moving his thumb on my hand.
I couldn't do anything but lose myself in his eyes.
He was asking through his eyes, pleading.
Then finally, his lips reached mine.
He was so soft like a silk pillow.
I was leaning on the coffee table now while one of my hands intertwined with his.
He pulled away looking into my eyes.
I felt embarrassed and all of my blood was on my face right now.
I loved the feeling.
Then Han's words echoed in my head and I get up.
"I should go."
Collecting all of my stuff except for my drawings he followed me to the door.
"Look. I'm sorry."
He had a hurt expression.
"For what? The kiss?"
"Yeah... I made you uncomfortable."
"Nah, chill."
"Do you regret it, Ji?"
"Of course not. Do you?"
"Wish I could do this more."
He was smirking, it made me feel small.
"My mom's waiting. Safe flight, bye!"
"Thanks. Bye!"
With that, I was already in the elevator.
Great. Just great.

The next days here were spent mostly doing something for my family.
It didn't feel like a vacation anymore.
My legs were sore from walking so much every ten minutes.
Hyunjin flew back a few days ago and I was pretty lonely out there.
When we flew back I was so grateful to see my friends again.
Han and Jeongin went to clubs every day making them meet new people and make a lot of new friends that were constantly with them now.
It wasn't the first time they went there, it's just, something changed.
I couldn't talk about our plan with them at all.

"Han, can I talk to you alone?"
We were in Han's house and we were playing games along with Minho.
I knew him from before, he's not a new company.
He's funny and caring but he has an attitude sometimes.
We didn't spend a lot of time together, he went out with them only on Fridays and played games online.
I dragged Han to the living room, I could tell he was concerned about me.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I didn't get the chance to talk with you privately about our plan,"
I spoke in a low voice reading his face.
"Yeah. We should talk about it when Minho goes home. I don't have time since every minute someone is at my house or we're going somewhere."
He scratches the back of his neck not meeting my eyes.
He was uncomfortable in each part of his body, for some reason.
"Look, I don't know. My friends are not letting me move a finger."
I stare at him.
"It's fine. You should've told me you can't help me right away."
He was about to say something but Jeongin came in and I went towards his dragging him to another room.
"What's wrong Minji?"
"I wasn't able to talk to you guys about the plan at all."
He nods, putting his hand to his chin and thinking.
"That's right. I'm sorry Ji. Should we leave? You talked with Han, right?"
"Yes and I don't think he's up to helping me anymore."
"What?! What's gotten into his mind? Let me talk to him."
