Akame was walking along the Grand Canyon, by herself after the defeat of the empire. All her friends in Night Raid or who remained from the capital were all dead, her beloved sister Kurome died as well, by her own hands at that. It has been fifteen years since the fall of the Empire and the deaths of her Night Raid friends. A new nation has been in the time since and Night Raid's name in the new empire was ignored as they were intentionally deleted from the history books and not a word of their achievements were never recorded or acknowledged. Akame has since heard of the news of Najenda's death from the severe shortening of her life span. This left Akame as the only Night Raid member that was still alive.
Akame now was traveling to the Hibachi River which led to Wakoku Island. She was planning on staying there for a few days then head to search of the land of Jinwa, the place she heard where Murasame's roots came from.

"Goddamn this curse. It can feel it eating away at me." Akame swore to herself, still feeling the effects from Murasame's curse that was making half of her body numb and caused it to throb. "If I keep walking along this path, I should be at the Hibachi River soon and hopefully find Wakoku Island. I'll head to the he lands of the east in search of Jinwa, then I can lift this--". Akame was cut off when a blinding flash appeared and consumed her. "The hell?!!"
Akame had no time to react before she was swallowed up by the overwhelming light.
