Vain kept expanding the energy ball even more.
"In moments, I'll blow myself to bits." Vain said. "I'll die perhaps but so will all of you! This planet will perish in a burst of flames!"
"He's lost his mind!" Wave said.
"I won't let you!" TJ said.
"Easy boy, don't move a muscle, stay right there." Vain said. "If you so much as lay a finger on me now, I'll go boom and it's bye-bye earth. No sense is wasting the precious few seconds you have left don't you agree?"
Vain began laughing maniacally. "Another minute then boom!" Vain laughed. "Not even I can stop it anymore."
"We're fucked." Wave said.
"What do we do?" Kurome said. "We can't just stand here."
"It's hopeless. There's nothing we can do." Esdeath said.
"Forty seconds!" Vain said.
"I'm sorry. You were right." TJ said. "I should've listened to you dad."
TJ then dropped to his knees.
"We're dead... I killed us!!" TJ said as he punched the ground. "It's all my fault. I could've finished this and I didn't."
"Thirty seconds left." Future TJ said.
"No. Its already started." Najenda said. "We're history."
Vain continued to laugh in victory.
Tatsumi then turned to smile at everyone.
"Tatsumi? What's with the look?" Wave said.
"Yeah, I don't like it." Lubbock said.
"Sorry. I thought this over guys." Tatsumi said. "There's only one sure-fire way to save earth."
"That would be what?" Run said.
"Dad?" Future TJ said.
"Tatsumi... no..." Esdeath protested. "Please, not that."
"Goodbye... my friends." Tatsumi said.
"Goodbye?" Sheele said.
"You're not thinking of...." Kurome said.
"Don't damn it!" Leone said.
"Stop!" Akame shouted.
"Ten seconds! This fight has officially reached its end!" Vain proclaimed.
"I'm sorry everyone." TJ said.
Tatsumi then teleported away.
"NOOOOOO!!!" Lubbock screamed as Night Raid and the Jaegers watched in shock and horror as Tatsumi teleported away from them.
Tatsumi appeared right in front of TJ and knelt in front of him.
"I'm really proud of you, my son." Tatsumi smiled as he placed a hand on his head.
"Dad... what are you...?" TJ said.
"You listen to your mom and keep getting stronger and hit those books, okay?" Tatsumi said. "Tell her I'm sorry but I'm not going to make it back home this time."
"What?" TJ said.
"Goodbye, TJ." Tatsumi smiled.
Tatsumi then walked up to Vain and placed a hand on him and teleported himself and Vain to King San's island.
"DON'T LEAVE US!!!!" TJ screamed.
"TATSUMI!!" Akame screamed as everyone looked on in horror.
