Chapter 65: The Depths of Yatsufusa

Drone #9 was then kicked away from Tatsumi, sent skidding across the ground.

Everyone looked over to see Esdeath and Kurome standing next to Tatsumi.

"I'm not letting some scrap metal bastards lay a finger on my love. The only person putting their hands all over Tatsumi is me." Esdeath said.

"Esdeath and Kurome!" TJ said.

Leone sprang up. "Are you kidding me!" she said.

Drone #10 had a surprised look on his face.

"Aunty? I thought you..." TJ said.

"I had it all worked out, I put on this ridiculous act to set up an opening to rescue Tatsumi." Leone said. "But I guess this works better."

"You were faking all that?" TJ asked.

"Jeez kid, you think your aunty is that weak to be taken out by some lasers?" Leone chuckled.

Esdeath then knelt down to Tatsumi. "Tatsumi, my darling, are you okay?" Esdeath said. "You can't keep pushing yourself that hard when there's something that's clearly affecting you."

Using her ice, Esdeath moved Tatsumi over to Night Raid and the Jaegers.

"Hang in there." TJ said. "Please dad, for us." 

"Holy shit. Is he going to be, okay?" Chelsea said.

"Come on man, stay with us." Lubbock said.

"One of you should take him back to your hideout and give that medicine before it's too late." Kurome said. 

"Yeah, she's right." Sheele said.

"I'll take dad back." TJ said offered.

"No. I should do it." Susanoo said. "Tatsumi's condition is virus based meaning it's contagious. I can't be affected by viruses or diseases as I'm immune, and an Imperial Arms at that. It's safer that way."

"Yeah. I forgot." Najenda said. "Okay, Susanoo, take Tatsumi back to the hideout and give him the medicine. Be sure to take Mine back as well. She'll want to be with Tatsumi and won't listen even if with his condition. Just make sure she has a mask on and takes some of that medicine as well."

"Understood." Susanoo said. Susanoo picked up Tatsumi and carried him back to the hideout.

"Get better Tatsumi! The world needs you!" Chelsea said. 

Drone #9 was about to chase after Tatsumi and Susanoo but was stopped by Drone #10.

"As you were. No point in giving chase." Drone #10 said. "We will save the best course for last. His canny little friends can whet our appetites for the feast, now that both Esdeath and Kurome joined us, I'm sure things will stay interesting."

With Mine and Nea:

"Hey Mine, I've been meaning to ask you something..." Nea said.

"Yeah, what's up?" Mine said. 

"How come you're not fighting with everyone else?" Nea asked.

"It's my powers." Mine said. 

"Powers?" Nea said.

"Yeah, I'm still not done with my mental healing. Because my powers are spirit-based, like the Imperial Arms I used to have." Mine said.

"The Adventurous Bunker Pumpkin?" Nea said.

"Exactly." Mine said. "To give an example, my powers are basically in a comatose state and haven't woken up yet. Until that happens, I can't get into any serious fights no matter how much I might want to. And it worries me that if my boyfriend or son is in any danger, I literally don't have the strength to help them."
