I had just completed my final assignment in high school and was giddily dancing as I closed my laptop when I heard a soft knock on the door.
I turned around with a smile on my face to see my very pregnant sister standing at my doorway with a small smile.
“Hey sister, what’s making you so happy?” She asked, coming to sit on my bed beside me.
“I completed my final assignment in high school, I’m officially done with assignments in high school and all that’s left is my exams and I’m done with high school!” I said while doing my happy dance, making her laugh softly.
“I’m proud of you honey, you’re so grown right now and I’m so happy.”
“You’re already sounding like a mum.” I teased.
“Thanks to you, I’m getting enough practice.”
“You’re welcome. Your girl is so lucky to have such a cool mum like you, how do you feel?”
She was due in a month and Derek had been all over her which was cute to watch.
“I won’t lie to you, I’m freaking out just thinking of having this baby but Derek has been so amazing, I can’t even imagine how everything would have gone if I didn’t have him in my life.”
“I’m glad you have him and even though I wasn’t exactly welcoming, I’m glad I got to know him. He’s an okay person.” I said with a shrug and she shook her head with a small smile knowing that I was teasing her.
“I’m glad you guys get along, he loves you and several times, he has tried to exchange you for Harry.” She said making me burst into laughter.
“If Harry hears that, he’ll never forgive me.”
“I like Harry, he’s a good brother and he cares about his siblings a whole lot.”
“Speaking of brothers, how did it go with Dylan yesterday?” I asked her.
Debby had finally gone out for lunch with Dylan yesterday after my mum told us it was okay for us to get to know him. I decided to stay back so they could get to know each other better since I already had a relationship with him.
We were closer than ever and he had finally returned to school so we all hung out together as often as we could.
Sometimes he came over with Ava to Alex’s house but he was yet to come to our place, we were still waiting for my mum to come around.
“It went well. At first it was kind of awkward but when we ended up ordering the same thing for lunch, we found out that we have quite a lot in common and it just went on from there. I even let him touch my tummy when she started kicking and I swear he teared up when he felt her. He reminds me so much of Ethan and I really like him.”
“I’m glad you guys got along.”
“I’m planning on inviting him for dinner sometime soon so he can meet Derek, he said he’d really love to. You’re coming too okay?”
“That sounds good. I’ll be there.”
Another knock interrupted us and we both turned to see our mum standing at the door with a small smile on her face.
“Hey girls.”
“Hi mom, come on in.” I told her with a small smile and she moved to take a sit beside Debby.
She finally stopped crying about a week ago and forced Nana out two days ago, convincing her that she was fine although Nana and Aunt Rachael came by everyday to see her. I was glad she had people looking out for her asides from my sister and I.
