It was Prom Night and we didn’t need anyone to tell us just how excited we were.
Rosa’s mum had gone all out in getting hair stylists and makeup artists for us and we were currently in Rosa’s room getting our hair and makeup done.
She had also helped us in picking up our gowns after we went looking for Alex yesterday and lucky for us, they had fit perfectly when we tried it on this morning so everything was set.
The guys were in Justin’s room getting ready and our mums were currently in the living room probably gossiping about every one of us.
After the game, they all made it a thing to meet at least once every two weeks regardless of their busy schedule and it was safe to see my mum had become besties with the mums of my besties.
Debby and Hannah to include themselves in the mum fest and Dylan decided to get ready at his house with his mum although he would join us before we all left in the limo Larry had made available for us.
It was a night when we were going all out.
“So Fifi. How did you feel meeting your father-in-law today?” Rosa asked making me roll my eyes at her.
Alex and I had gone to see his father today and I was genuinely taken aback by how crazy the resemblance was. It felt like I was staring at an older version of Alex and even though he had strands of grey hair on his head, he still looked very handsome.
At first, it was awkward because Alex refused to say a word but eventually, they spoke about it.
Michael made Alex realize that he and Vee had fallen out of love a long time before he finally left. He got diagnosed with depression after he left and he admitted that leaving wasn’t the best thing he did back then but he was very confused. He met Helen when he had his first mini-heart attack, she was his nurse and she helped him out of the slump he was in. They got married and then had two kids. He apologized for not reaching out to Alex and admitted that he was ashamed of what he had done but he had always been proud of him ever since.
They finally hugged it out and even though I knew they weren’t going to be immediate best friends, they would work towards being cordial again.
After we left, Alex went to see his mum and they had a conversation about his father, she apologized for not telling him the truth and they settled everything even though it was several years late, it was better late than never.
“It was really good. Michael seemed to like me I guess and I think he and Alex are going to be just fine.”
“I’m glad to hear that. Everyone deserves their happy ending.” Emily said making me smile softly at her.
Her mum was engaged to her boyfriend and Emily had become extremely fond of him. They had gone on several trips together and they enjoyed each other’s company a lot. Emily was going to be fine and I was glad.
“Alright girls, hair and makeup are all done so it's time to get you into these dresses.” The head stylist said with so much excitement that seemed to be contagious because we suddenly started giggling like little kids too.
We took turns getting dressed and when we were all done, we couldn’t fight the smiles off our faces.
“Oh my God we look amazing!” Lauren said and all I could do was nod.
“You took the words out of my mouth,” I said softly, still admiring myself in the mirror.
The gown I had on was my dream gown.
The one I’d saved on Pinterest but didn’t find.
Alex had stumbled upon the picture on my laptop and begged Didi to make it for me. Of course, Didi had added her touch, making it more beautiful than it was in the picture. I remember crying when I saw the dress this morning because it was the last thing I was expecting from him.
