“I still can’t believe we took this many pictures.” I said to my cousin as we scrolled through our pictures on my laptop.
We were in Nana's house in the room that once belonged to my mum before she went off to college. It still had most of her old stuffs around but we (mostly Tiwa) after a lot of argument finally decided to paint the room in a light purple shade and the bedding was a cream colored King sized bed specially for the both of us because for obvious reasons, Tiwa always wanted to sleep with me anytime she was around.
“That’s what you get when you have a lot of friends and a particular one that absolutely loves taking pictures. Rosa definitely outdid herself.” She said scrolling through her phone.
“The ones we took yesterday are also part of them.” I told her with a smile on her face as we scrolled through the pictures together.
Tiwa, Tomi and I decided to have a day out for ourselves yesterday since the whole week was pretty busy for everyone.
We went to the neighborhood park, the movies and spent the rest of the day at the amusement park where Tomi made us go on all the rides there although I refused to go on the ones that had to do with height because of my crazy fear of heights.
I had an amazing time with my cousins although Tomi didn’t stop pulling our hair at every chance he got.
I can swear he has some type of hair fetish.
“Now you have a lot of memories to remember us by.” She said turning back to scroll through her phone.
“What are you doing?” I asked her closing my laptop to put it by the side table.
“Reading a book on Wattpad. It’s by this Nigerian girl, her name is Phunmito and she’s really good. You should check it out.” She said not taking her eyes off the screen.
“What’s the name of the book?” I asked her opening the app on my phone so I could add it to my library.
“The Arrangement. She has over three million reads and I swear she inspires me to want to write a book. It’s not everyday that you see a Nigerian that writes so well.”
“I’m sure there are a lot of Nigerians that write really well too, you’re just yet to find them.” I told her with a small smile.
“Yeah whatever. I just know that she’s really good, makes me proud to be Nigerian.” She said with a smirk.
I found the book and added it to my library so I could read it later before turning to look at my cousin, “You’ll never let this dual citizenship have a rest will you?”
“Never! But don’t forget that I’m black and proud!” She said raising her fist in the air.
“Sure,” I drawled before getting up, “While you’re busy fangirling over your Nigerian sister, I’ll be in the kitchen getting something to eat.” I said to her and she just hummed a yeah at me.
I walked into the kitchen and opened to fridge just to see a bowl of pie staring at me.
“Oh my! You’re definitely God sent.” I spoke to the pie before grabbing it and a spoon and settling on the kitchen island.
As soon as the pie touched my tongue, I let out a satisfied moan that wouldn’t be considered appropriate in the public but thankfully I was alone and I couldn’t help it, Nana made the best pies.
My eating was interrupted by the buzzing of my phone and I looked down to see that Hannah wanted to Face time with me.
I raised my eyebrow and picked up giving her a weird look.
