"The empire is thriving now and everyone is enjoying the fruits of all my effort Li Cheng, you might want to reward me for turning the empire up side down." I suggested as I sip my cup of wine served by A-Jin
Were all having a leisure time as we drink wine and have appetizers that I madde while discussing our next project to make the empire grow.
A-Jin just giggled at my suggestion as how true it really is, I did cause most of the trouble that happened in this empire and put things into their place
"Yeah Sister-in-law, you really did turn this entire empire up side down, it all started when you boldly asked my dear brother all those things you needed to do a make over at the previous cold palace cause of boredom" Jun Meng said making everyone chuckled
"HEY! you all get to benefit from all the troubles I've made! We all know that if I didn't do what i did not everyone got a chance to have a more peaceful life!" I blurted out as they all laugh at me for being frantically defending my actions.
"No need to get defensive your highness" Gou Shi said slyly
"Yeah, and the best part was the beginning of everything" Feng Yun stated
"Remember the time when you make his highness night to be auctioned?" Eunuch Fon stated that made everyone bawled up laughing
and with me remembering all of my mischievousness towards the emperor, I think I might have been punished by death if I didn't gain results. from all the things I've done from then.
"ENOUGH!" Li Cheng said face red with embarrassment while trying to cover it with his paperwork.
"Admit it, It was a fun experience" I said taking the paper off of his face to see him in a blushing mess.
Its the first time seeing a guy blush this much. Making his handsome face glow even more.
I don't now when it all started but I feel like I've been dependent of Li Cheng as if his my family. I mean having him by my side is so much fun and my day is full just to see his annoyed face.
"By the way Li Cheng. " I called gaining everyone's attention as they look at me with seriousness
"I reviewed all the memorials in the last dynasty and found out that the previous emperor that the empire has a lot of debt in the past and until now, none of the emperor prior have noticed that type of memorials and in today's date that kingdom is declining in terms of economy and agriculture. Why not help out and proposed an business contract since that kingdom has a vast land that can cultivate crops " I brought up the one I've read the first time I saw those memorials.
"Is it so. It's not a problem now if we help them out but is that nation wont stab us in the back after the deed is done?" he asked giving me a raised brow as if I know the future of what is going to happen, as he laid out a possibility that can happen after we help out
"Ugh. brother don't you think that's so ironic that is coming from you? It's clear how peaceful and abundant the empire become since Sister-in-law started taking politics in her hands yet almost all of your officials is still talking bad behind her back" Jun Meng commented
"his highness got a point your majesty, those rats still despised the empress consort after everything she did for the empire" Eunuch Fon agreed disappointed at his fellow coworkers inside the court.
"Well, I just know that Kim Li wont let them unscratched by their misbehavior, besides you got to admit it every time the empress collects the tax its a show to behold" Li Chen chuckled
"You got that right. And I'm still planning on how to deal with them with out actually killing any of them, since torture is no fun and so disgusting with all the blood, why not just play with their heads and traumatized them so they wont do the same mistake twice." I stated giggling as I remembered the scene with the lions
"So, practically your just pretending to stay composed while marking your next target." Gou Shi asked half bewildered
"Uh, huh"
"Unbelievable, I thought that your just being genuinely patient with those blabber mouths" Jun Meng said really really surprised
"Your highness, since when did her highness have the patience for nonsense with out her taking the full payback with satisfactory?" Feng Yun said blantly
"You knew me so well Feng Yun, don't tell me you still remember your play dates with my wolves back in the days up till now??" I asked eyeing him curiously
"Yeah i still do" he replied
"Its already been years! get over it" I laughed remembering how those play time turned out for him
its already been years have passed and I already change the victims that my babies can target for their play date, that's the reason why the ladies in the courtyard are so quite this days and not adding more paperwork on my desk.
cause besides from the wolves the lions are now fully tamed and is starting to learn some tricks.
Ofcourse as a proud momma I gave them their freedom to run back in the wild but they still come back everyday around noon time where we all play, learn some tricks and relax on my spare time.
though the wolves stayed by my side or A-jin's almost twenty-four seven. Never did I imagined that they'll be so clingy.
"And don't worry about that Kingdom Li Cheng , if they want war we'll just have to fight back. This is my empire now, And I want every Kingdom to be united as one, If they want to strike me down they can try, but if ever I did die. I'll die at peace knowing tat I tried my best to attain world peace and more opportunity for the next generation" I said smiling genuinely at them, taking in their reaction of what I've just said.
I know its out of the blue, but I know deep with in my heart that the possibility that I'd die again will happen sooner or later as my mission is in a large scale and I've been trampling over someone's plan by doing what I do as the empress . Who knows I might be their greatest target who's needed to be eliminated next.
"What the hell are you talking about?! YOUR NOT GONNA DIE!" Li Cheng. shouted as if snapping the others out of their shock
"Your highness, If we the imperial guards failed to protect you, we deserve the punishment of death. " Feng Yun seriously stated
"Hey, I'm just saying a possibility don't get too serious now" I teased lighting up the mood
"Don't take it as a light joke your highness. I'll personally bring you back to the living if you ever did die" Gou Shi said as if his voice is pleading
"We'll protect you Sister-in-law, even if we need to kill all of those that dislike you! Right Brother!" Jun Meng said holding my hand hand as he look at Li Cheng for his confirmation
"Jun Meng is right. we'll protect you even if you don't like it." Li Cheng said already annoyed by the topic, I just rolled my eyes as he said that
"As if. Your former high ranking concubine have done a lot of damage but she just ended up being a maid servant of my step sister." I said pouting still remember what that bitch did
"Then we can execute their whole family this instant, I'd do everything now that will make you safe and happy" he said determined as he take my hand from Jun Meng and slowly guide it towards his lips as he kissed the knuckles of my hand.
That made me dumbfounded as I slowly register what the heck is happening.
while I am distracted by what the emperor did, the other occupants in the room started teasing and cheering for the emperor advancement.
"Hey! quit it.!" I yelled as Li Cheng seemed pleased by my reaction.
Everyone laughed and keep teasing me about it, but nonetheless I curled up and hide my face with my hands.
"You guys are annoying!"
"Hahahahaha..." That's all I could hear from everyone.
