TW: Bullying, Violence, Foul language, and Slight suicidal thoughts.
BASIL awakens to the sensation of someone stumbling over his body before clumsily making their way towards the couch. He sits up, clutching his stomach in discomfort, and notices POLLY passed out on the couch, snoring heavily, clearly inebriated. He sighs in relief, thankfully she was too drunk to say anything. BASIL slowly gets up before wincing in pain. He reckoned that POLLY or HERO must've broken one of his ribs. His stomach growls, he had forgotten that he was starving. BASIL really didn't want to go outside after what HERO did to him but he had no choice. He limps his way toward the door, not looking back. He didn't realize it before but it was a pretty nice day outside. The sun was shining as well as the clouds were fluffy and white. As BASIL makes his way to SAMEMARKET, he walks past the PARK and catches sight of KEL reading a book with his glasses on, giving him a slightly nerdy appearance. With his hair pulled back into a ponytail, KEL is deeply engrossed in his reading.
BASIL rolls his eyes and cringes, how could someone just waste their time on books? He walks over to KEL, towering over him. KEL sighs like he was annoyed just by BASIL's presence.
'What do you want, BASIL? I'm busy.', KEL says coldly. He doesn't look up and continues to read. BASIL huffs at this, he crosses his arms.
'Busy? You mean wasting your time on stupid books! You could be playing basketball like you used to.', BASIL glares at KEL. KEL doesn't seem fazed by this. KEL takes off his glasses, putting them to the side as he closes his book. He looks directly at BASIL with a cold stare.
'What I do is none of your business, BASIL. Go bother someone else before you piss me off.', KEL crosses his legs as he opens the book back up. He puts back on his glasses. BASIL clenches his fist and plops himself next to KEL. KEL sighs in response.
'Nope. As much as I wanna leave, I can't. Oh by the way, did you know your psychotic ass brother beat the shit out of me this morning? Fucking unbelievable.', BASIL grumbles. KEL flips to the next page, continuing to read.
'You know how he is. Why bother talking back to him? Knowing you, you probably said something stupid which pissed him off.', KEL flips the page again. BASIL lays back on the bench and stretches.
'Maybe but just because he's older and like 6'7 doesn't mean he could beat me up whenever he wants. Fucking asshole, he acts like a child with his tantrums.', BASIL rolls his eyes as he looks up at the sky.
KEL stands up abruptly. Slight mumbling could be heard from him as BASIL looked back down to see what was going on. HERO was standing in front of KEL, peering down at him like an ant. KEL's height was only 5'5, making HERO seem like a giant to him. BASIL froze. Was HERO going to beat him up again? Wait...did he hear him talk shit about him?
'KEL, what the hell are you doing here? Didn't I fucking tell you to stay indoors?', HERO glares at KEL. KEL flinches at his gaze but holds his ground.
'It was a nice day so I went outside. It's not a big deal.', KEL says nonchalantly. HERO snatches his book away from him, this makes KEL glare at him.
'How long are you going to read these shitty fucking books? Just because you're getting good grades, doesn't mean shit. You'll forever be useless in MOM's eyes.', HERO smirks as he holds the book out of reach for KEL.
