'Huh?? What the hell do you mean "for now"?', BASIL huffs, looking away.
KEL raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. 'Oh, come on, BASIL. Where's your sense of adventure? A little unpredictability keeps things interesting.'
He scoffed, crossing his arms. 'I don't need any more unpredictability in my life, thank you very much. I've had my fair share of it.'
KEL leaned back, grinning. 'Well, you never know when I might strike again. Keep your guard up, heh.'
BASIL rolled his eyes but couldn't help the hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. 'I'll be prepared, don't you worry. But don't think I won't retaliate.'
KEL chuckled, a playful glimmer in his eyes. 'Oh, I wouldn't expect anything less. I look forward to the day you try to mess up my hair.'
BASIL's smirk grew wider. 'Consider it a challenge, KEL. I'll make sure your hair is as disheveled as mine.'
As KEL and BASIL continued their playful banter, their conversation was interrupted by a gentle voice. 'Is everything okay, boys?'
They turned to see SUNNY's mom standing at the entrance of the dining room, concern etched on her face. She had been observing their interaction, sensing the shift in their dynamic, and couldn't help but check in on them.
KEL's playful demeanor quickly transformed into one of respect and politeness. He straightened up, offering a warm smile to her. 'Yes, everything's fine, thank you for asking. We were just having a light-hearted moment.'
BASIL, on the other hand, couldn't resist his sarcastic side. He raised an eyebrow, his smirk still lingering. 'Yeah, don't worry, we're just honing our skills in friendly banter.'
SUNNY's mom nodded, her concern not fully appeased. 'I'm glad to hear that, but I have to admit, I've been a little worried about SUNNY's behavior during dinner. He seemed quite distant and quiet.'
KEL's smile faltered, and a weariness settled over him as he heard SUNNY's name. He shifted his weight, his tone becoming more abrasive. 'SUNNY, huh? Figures....'
BASIL's irritation also resurfaced, and he sighed exasperatedly. 'I don't even wanna talk about him after what he did...'
SUNNY's mom frowned, her worry deepening. 'What happened? Did something happen between you all?'
KEL let out a sigh, his exhaustion seeping into his words. 'It's just another day in the life of SUNNY, causing trouble and stirring up drama. We had a little encounter with the principal earlier, and it didn't go well.'
BASIL chimed in, his voice tinged with anger, 'Yeah and he also fucking sent AUBREY to the hospital! I'm going to murder him, I swear to god...'
