TW: Foul Language, Slight Arguing, Suicidal Talk.

A few weeks pass by and BASIL is finally able to get out of the hospital. During the past week, he had gotten therapy after the entire incident with SUNNY. HERO had visited him every few days during his stay at the hospital. He was...grateful that HERO seemed to care for him but it still felt weird to him. He guessed he wasn't used to the kindness HERO gave him yet.

As BASIL prepares to leave the hospital and enter a foster home, he feels a mixture of emotions. He's relieved to be out of the hospital and to have received therapy but everything feels so off. He wouldn't be surprised if he was making up this entire thing the entire time. He's not sure what to expect from foster care, and the thought of living with strangers is daunting.

What if I end up being alone? Should...I run away? But what about KEL? KEL would be all alone...I'm sure he's as scared as I am...right?

BASIL takes a deep breath and tries not to think about it. BASIL gathers his things and prepares to leave the hospital. As he exits the building, he sees HERO waiting for him outside.

'Hey, BASIL!' HERO smiles softly, 'Are you alright?'

'HERO? What are you doing here?', BASIL asks with a confused look.

'I just wanted to make sure you were okay,' HERO replies, 'and to drop you off!'

'Uh...thanks,' BASIL says, not quite meeting HERO's gaze.

'BASIL-'

'Heyy! Wait for me, jeez.' KEL yells out, running behind BASIL. 'You didn't even give me a chance to catch up.' KEL says panting.

HERO turns to KEL and greets him with a smile, 'Hey there KEL, how are you doing?'

KEL stares at HERO curiously. He squints his eyes before responding. 'I'm fine.' He grumbles.

HERO notices KEL's guarded demeanor and takes a step back, giving him some space. 'I'm glad you're both here,' he says. 'I wanted to make sure you got settled in okay.'

BASIL and KEL exchange a glance before turning their attention back to HERO. They're not used to someone caring about their well-being or checking up on them. It's a new feeling for them.

'Yeah, we're...doing okay,' BASIL says, still unsure.

HERO nods, understanding their hesitation. 'I know it's tough, but you guys are going to be okay. You're not alone in this, alright? You've got people who care about you and want to help.'

BASIL and KEL look at each other again before nodding, accepting HERO's words.

'Come on, let's get you guys to your new home,' HERO says smiling.

BASIL and KEL follow HERO to his car and get in the backseat. KEL was the first to look out the window once the car started.
