BASIL continued to wallow in his thoughts for quite some time. It was already the afternoon. Was time always this fast? BASIL didn't care, the day ending meant he had to go back to that hell hole of a home. He really didn't want to.
'Hey, ain't that the kid who sometimes sleeps outside?'
'Woah, he finally came outside again? That's hilarious!'
'You know, I saw him stealing from SAMEMARKET an hour ago. The guy looked so happy with himself.'
'Oh really? Pftt, so he's resorted to stealing now?'
'Guys, wouldn't it be funny if we reported him to SAMEMARKET?'
'Heh yeah, it would be.'
BASIL slowly raised his head to look at the 3 kids in front of him. Did they not think he could hear him? What a bunch of idiots.
'Oh would you look at that, he WAS alive!'
'Oh cmon ROWAN don't pick on the homeless now.' The kid laughs.
'It ain't MY fault that he looks like he's about to die at any second, like dude you should seriously take a shower. You stink!', ROWAN smirks at BASIL mockingly.
BASIL rolls his eyes, he wasn't going to fight unless he really needed to. BASIL gets out of his fetal position and stands up. Of course, he was taller than the other kids but not as tall as he should be. Malnutrition really played a number on his height.
'Dude, this guy is a giant! What the hell?', ROWAN looks at BASIL like he's a circus attraction.
BASIL sighs and pushes past ROWAN and his gang. ROWAN makes a disgusted face.
'Oh eww, he touched me with his dirty homeless hands!', ROWAN gags.
BASIL clenches his fist, getting tired of the comments from the kids. He turns his head and glares at them. Which was a mistake since it made ROWAN angry.
'Who the hell are you glaring at, huh?', ROWAN looks up, glaring back.
BASIL doesn't say anything.
BASIL is kicked behind his knee by one of the kids, causing him to kneel on the ground. ROWAN and his gang snicker at the scene.
'That's right! You should kneel to your obvious superior!', ROWAN says with a cocky smile.
BASIL gets ENRAGED by this, he rips out the grass and stands with a menacing glare.
The other two kids get frightened by this but ROWAN holds his ground.
'Guys don't be scared, this kid is all bark but no bite. He's weak and useless! I bet he couldn't even hurt a fly.', ROWAN puts his hands on his hips.
BASIL loses his temper and grabs ROWAN by the collar, causing him to gasp in surprise and flail around. The other two kids tremble in fear, as BASIL's demeanor becomes quite terrifying to them.
