'How can we move forward if we don't confront the truth?' HERO asked, his voice filled with determination. 'BASIL, I need to understand. I can handle it..'
'NO! Y...You don't understand! You don't wanna know what I did...', BASIL's voice trembled with a mix of anger and fear as he looked away, refusing to meet HERO's gaze.'HERO, trust me when I say that some things are better left in the past,' BASIL said, his voice filled with a mixture of frustration and desperation. 'What I did... it's not something you need to carry. Please... just drop it.'
'BASIL, I can't just drop it,' HERO said firmly, his voice filled with compassion. 'Whatever it is, it's a part of our shared history, and I want to understand. We can face it together.'
BASIL's shoulders slumped, the weight of his guilt evident in his posture. He took a deep breath, realizing that the facade he was portraying wasn't working.
'I... I don't know how to begin,' BASIL admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. 'But I'll try to find the right words.'
HERO placed a supportive hand on BASIL's shoulder, offering him reassurance. 'Take your time, BASIL. I'm here to listen whenever you're ready.'
BASIL nodded, gathering his thoughts as he stared at the ground. The memories flooded back, the remorse and regret threatening to consume him.
'HERO, there are things I did in the past... things that hurt you,' BASIL started, his voice laced with sorrow. 'I....made choices that I thought were right at the time, but they had consequences.'
HERO's brows furrowed, his expression a mix of concern and curiosity. He squeezed BASIL's shoulder gently, encouraging him to continue.
As HERO continued to gaze at BASIL, his expression filled with concern and curiosity, BASIL's anxiety heightened. The weight of his guilt, combined with the fear of how HERO would react, overwhelmed him. His breath became shallow, and his hands trembled uncontrollably.
BASIL's voice faltered as he struggled to find his words, his panic intensifying. He could feel the weight of HERO's gaze, which seemed to magnify his anxiety. Every second felt like an eternity, and the pressure to confess grew stronger.
Unable to withstand the intensity of the moment, BASIL's panic escalated into a full-blown panic attack. He gasped for air, feeling as if the walls were closing in on him. Tremors shook his body uncontrollably, and his vision blurred.
Concerned and alarmed, HERO immediately recognized the severity of the situation. He panicked and hugged BASIL.
'I'm so sorry, BASIL...I didn't know it was this difficult for you to talk about it...I'm sorry for pushing you.', HERO says with remorse.
HERO continued to hold BASIL, allowing him to feel the warmth and security of the embrace. He maintained a soothing tone, expressing his genuine concern, 'You don't need to apologize for anything. I should have been more considerate of your emotions and the burden you're carrying. I'm here for you, BASIL, and I'll always provide my support, no matter what.'
