TW: Foul language, Overthinking, Depressive thoughts
'Mhm, suree.', HERO lightly smirks.
BASIL groans at HERO's constant teasing. HERO chuckles as he calms down.
'Well, it looks like you've fully calmed down. That's good!', HERO pats BASIL's head.
BASIL shudders at HERO's affection, slightly pushing him away.
'Yeah, I'm fine..', BASIL sighs.
'BASIL, I've got a question.', HERO fiddles with his thumbs.
'If it's about me crying then I'm not answering it-'
'No no! I just..uh how old are you exactly? You look to be about 14 to me so I just wanted to ask.', HERO chuckles awkwardly.
BASIL takes a moment to think. He hasn't celebrated his birthday in so long so he stopped counting but if he had to guess he would be around 16?
'I'm 16..', BASIL mutters.
'16?! That's...even worse!-', HERO covers his mouth, 'S..Sorry. I really need to think before I say things, eh-heh..'
'It's fine, I don't mind. At least you're sorry about it.', BASIL sighs.
He clunches his stomach in pain. He shouldn't have been moving so much, did his painkillers wear off?
'You okay, BASIL?', HERO frowns.
'Mhm...I think my painkillers wore off or something.', BASIL rubs his neck uncomfortably.
'Oh! Do you want me to go get the nurse?', HERO asks, smiling.
'Obviously, I'm in pain dipshit.', BASIL rolls his eyes.
'BASIL...you should really consider wording your sentences a bit better but alright, I'll go get them.', HERO gets off the bed and leaves the room.
BASIL sighs.
Wait to go, BASIL. You just had to be rude for no reason.
HERO was actually concerned for him and he cursed at him. Jeez...He really can't do anything right.
BASIL closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, trying to push away the negative thoughts. He knew he habitually pushed people away, but it wasn't intentional. He just didn't want to be a burden to anyone, especially those who were kind to him.
A few minutes later, HERO returns with the nurse in tow. The nurse checks BASIL's vitals and gives him a fresh dose of painkillers. HERO thanks her and she leaves the room, leaving them alone once again.
'Feeling better now?', HERO asks, sitting back down on the chair next to the bed.
BASIL nods, 'Yeah, thanks for getting the nurse.'
