Hallelujah.

"I've never heard of something like that before." Grace looked just as confused as the Tsahik did.

When I woke up, I had spoken to her immediately about what happened after I bonded with the Stingbat- the hug, the emotions, everything. She sat there for a minute, rendering everything I told her before finally responding.

It's a shame she responded with something so boring. But that was beside the point. My head felt fine now, but I knew the second I returned to my avatar body it would return. I wasn't sure if I could handle that level of emotion for hours and hours at a time.

Jake left right away, again. So we were left waiting for him and anxiously trying to work out why the fuck my neural queue worked differently.

"Me neither, but it was so surreal. It was a total mind-fuck." Way to go, Anabelle, making a serious situation awkward with stupid jokes that are not funny in the slightest.

Grace ignores my comment and tries to work out some sort of plan.

"Well, you could get the body back here and we could run some tests." She contemplates a little more. Either that was all she could come up with, or it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it was. She rests her head on her hand and taps her fingers on the table. "Or, we leave it alone and hope it's not some malfunction." Neither of those was a good option.

That obviously showed on my face because she snorted and slapped my arm before getting up to leave. I scoffed and leaned back in my chair. ~Nobody was helping. Eyve said that they had a plan, but went all cryptic about it.

"Anabelle." He said, walking over to me. That was bad enough, he'd used my name twice. Every single time, it freaked me out. I wasn't sure why.

"Hm?" I turned to face him and waited for him to give me any news. Now, here was the problem.
He cleared his throat and looked back at the Tsahik, who returned to her circle and resumed her humming.

It didn't take him too long to find the words, but it was longer than usual. Eyve never takes longer than ten seconds to find out what to say. So this situation was absurd.

"You must come tomorrow, we will find out why you are feeling like this." He nodded, I scrunched my nose up in confusion and he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Sure..." There was no need to pry, so I left it and we continued about our day. Which, by the way, consisted of awkward conversations, more animals (thank God!), and salty bugs again. So overall, pretty shitty.

Considering how early it was, having this conversation was such a bad idea. I made a mental note to ask Norm about this as well, might as well get a third party involved.

I knew there was no escaping bonding with creatures, it was a necessary part of becoming one of the people. To be honest, Ikran wasn't something I had any interest in, there was hardly anything to be learned.

Of course, I would be literally squealing like a schoolgirl when I saw one- but that was beside the point.

While I continue to contemplate whether I have some huge issue, Jake finally makes his appearance and wheels up to Grace and Norm. It takes me a minute or two to get off my ass.
I sit up and walk my way over to the group- leaning on a desk.

"I'm not about to let Selfridge and Quaritch micromanage this thing," Grace says, hovering over Jake with a stern but playful look in her eye, as per usual.

She walks back over to place something in a cushioned box before continuing her explanation. "There's a mobile link up at Site 26 we can work out of. Way up in the mountains." That spiked both mine and Norm's interest.

I stand up straight and my eyebrows shoot right up. Norm's head basically does a full 360 turn at the words, clearly more shocked than I am.

"The Hallelujah mountains?" He questions. No, Norm, Everest. What mountains do you think? Some scientists could be so stupid sometimes. Grace responds with some snarky comment that Norm doesn't comprehend out of pure excitement.

He walks up to Jake, who looks so confused. I laugh a little at his dumbfounded expression. He always looks a little clueless. "The legendary floating mountains of Pandora? Heard of them?" Norm looks down at Jake and sends a snarky comment at him, clearly going off his confusion.
