"Eat." Grace shouts from the other room. This was a pain in my ass. Since the other week, Grace had forced me to stay in my avatar to make sure it didn't shut down. It needed a few days to rest and fix it's blood flow, but after that I needed to get it moving again. So I was forced to walk around in my avatar for 16 hours a day. Minimum.
But a plus side is that I could see Eyve for as long as I wanted.
So far we had caught each other up with close to everything, had a huge long conversation about how sorry we both are (which we are yet to finish), and I had introduced him to Sita.We haven't left each others sides since the incident and all it did was show me how much I fucking missed him.The thought of being around him again made me unthinkably happy, which wasn't something I ever thought I'd say.
"Anabelle!!" Grace snaps again. I jump a little and laugh before running off to link. She didn't exactly care that my human body ate, she only gave a shit about my avatar for the time being.
Which was fair, it looked awful. The first time I saw it I'm pretty sure I almost fainted. She was so pale, her usual beautiful blue was totally washed out. I can understand why everyone was everyone was so freaked.
My screen lights up and I here the machine start buzzing. While the lid arises and the machinery whirls behind it, I scan the room. It was barely 7 am, so Jake was long gone by now. I hate how he can get up so early easily.
This morning almost killed me.
Grace was up at the absolute ass crack of dawn, by that i mean 4 in the fucking morning. She was banging around- on purpose might I add- trying to 'find the electron microscope'.She knew where the damn thing was, she was the one who put it away last night. I ended up getting up 20 minutes later to see her in front of the microscope, banging on the counters.
To pass the time i made scrambled eggs. Best thing i'd eaten all week.I slip into the link, making sure i was comfortable before pulling the skeleton and lid down over me.
By the time I cleared my mind i was in total darkness. All I could here was the buzz of the machine behind me.
By the time I was fully relaxed, a light was under my eyelids and drawing me towards it.
It took me less than a minute to get to the light and let it engulf me.Before I even opened my eyes I felt the humidity around me. The humming of hometree was filling my ears and I open my eyes to be met with Eyve's empty hammock.
A smile all appears on my lips as I recall last night's conversation.
Eyve settles himself in his hammock, sitting cross legged rather than laying down.
Something looked off.
"What?" I ask, pushing myself up into a sitting of position. He glances at me, a careful look on his face.
It was obvious to me that he'd been contemplating what to say for a while. Which was unusual, because Eyve wasn't the type to do that. He'd always be so sure about what he wanted to say.I wasn't worried though, this wasn't a bad type of unsure, this was the good type. The 'I've got butterflies but the best thing ever is happening' type. I doubt this was the best thing ever, but I knew it wasn't bad.
Eyve starts chewing on his cheek, looking over at me one more time before turning properly and facing me. It was great that he was figuring out the best words to say, but he could do it a little faster.
But I'd give him time. With Eyve it was always more perfect if he was given time. I'd learnt that about him this past week. The more time you gave him, the better he was.
"Before I found you," His accent was thick, thicker than I'd ever heard it. With that, the knot in my stomach tightened. "I had my brother."
Shit, maybe this was going to be a depressing conversation. I keep looking at him, scared to move even an inch in case he stops speaking.
