Eyve was in front of me. He was talking about his time after he left, but all I could focus on was him. Not his words or the pain he felt, but him, how he was there and alive. While I watched his lips move, the words weren't registering, all I wanted was him. I knew my body was weak and my link would soon weaken to the point of disconnecting, so I needed to treasure this moment.
From the little I have heard of Eyve's time after he left me. He did not want to overwhelm me with questions about Jake, so he ran. He ran as far as humanly possible to the only place he knew where to go.
When he got there it was far too late and everything had been in a blaze, he started panicking and collapsed. I assumed that was from the smoke intake, but that was my science guess that he didn't explain. Eyve was still conscious when I found him, but I didn't know that.
He explained that he felt me helping him and that he felt me making sure he could breathe. He felt everything, he felt me being dragged away after my link was interrupted and woke up.
Woke up was a stretch. Opened his eyes was more close to the truth.
But it pained me to know he was awake and assumed I was dead beside him. He did not know the ins and outs of my link and I hoped he never would, but there will come a time when he would need to know. I knew that much.
"They took me back here and I couldn't find you." His words snap me from my trance of sympathy and my eyes focus in on his distressed face.
That did it. My complete attention was on him now, the moment his expression hit me there was nothing that could distract me from this man. He swallows, looking into my eyes then darting around behind me. "I thought they left you." He shudders and I take his hand in mine. "I got angry, I started hurting people."
I could see the regret running through his head as he recollects the what he did. The one thing I can think to do is reach over my shoulder and pull my queue around to my front.
He looks up at me with a look i've only seen once before and copies my movement, snatching his queue and presenting the nerves before him.
I smile and hold his face before we move the nerves closer and closer. My nerves begin to heighten as I prepare for the gust of memory and emotion to overflow inside me.
When I feel the tendrils intertwine, I gasp. The feeling tingled everywhere in my body and my breaths synced with Eyve's. My heart began beating erratically and I shivered.
A feeling of ecstasy and happiness rushes through my veins, I swear I could feel as it spread throughout my body.
I watch Eyve intensely. His pupils were dialated and his ears were sticking straight up, his heckles were raised and I saw his tail whip around behind him every so often. I inhale sharply and sigh, pressing our foreheads together.
Eyve looks me in the eye and I see everything he's trying to tell me play in his beautiful orange irises.
Eyve's POV; hours before.
My head was throbbing with a pain nobody should ever go through, there was a disgusting burning taste that lingered at the back of my throat and I didn't know how to rid myself of it. Swallowing hurt.
My eyes wouldn't open no matter how hard I tried, but I felt my fingers twitch. In reality I wanted to thrash, to jump up and demand to know that Belle was safe, but moving my fingers slightly was all I could manage. Somebody immediately takes my arm in their hands.
Their touch was not comforting, it was clammy and annoying and I wanted it off me. "ℰ𝓎𝓋ℯ." They mumble, and I hear shuffling just before more hands press onto my body.
