"What a day," Draco smirked as he leaned in and kissed Sloane again. Each kiss sent sparks through his body. He would never get tired of kissing her.
"Draco!" Narcissa called again.
"You need to go," Sloane smiled against his lips.
"Don't want to," he said, kissing her again.
"Go on," she encouraged. "Sooner you go, the sooner you can come back."
"Hell no. Now I've got you, I'm not letting you go so soon." He laughed and wrapped his arms around her waist. She yelped as he pulled her onto his knee and jumped off the tree branch. He landed softly on the grass and set her down. "Thank Merlin that worked out." He smirked and took her hand, pulling her along and up the grass to where his mother was standing with Joanna. Narcissa couldn't believe her eyes as she watched her son come up the lawn holding hands with none other than Joanna's niece. The very girl she was just singing the praises of.
"It seems your son has good taste," Joanna smirked.
"And I am delighted to see it." Narcissa practically giggled.
Draco was cool and calm approaching the women. He stopped in front of them and wrapped an arm around Sloane's waist. "You called mother?"
Narcissa's eyes lit up. "Well, I was going to question you as to why two young girls just approached me on separate occasions to ask about a courtship and -"
"I'm sorry, who did what now?" He asked.
"I believe the first girl was Greengrass. Astailia or something." Narcissa said, frowning. "The second was Miss Parkinson."
Draco rolled his eyes. "And what did you tell them?"
"This part was great!" Joanna smirked.
Narcissa batted her arm and chuckled. "I told them that my son is not some winter coat they can pluck out of a catalogue and ask daddy to buy for them. I simply told them that I would not have a contract drawn up with any girl for my son. That it is an outdated tradition and that he was more than capable of choosing his girl." She looked to Sloane. "And I see you already have."
Draco blushed. "This is a very new thing."
"I only kissed him five minutes ago," Sloane explained.
"You kissed him?" Narcissa gasped. "Oh my dear girl, I like you!"
Sloane blushed this time. "Em...thank you."
"You two are very cute together," Joanna smiled. "This," she motioned between the two. "This is a good thing."
"Draco, my aunt has no filter, I am afraid," Sloane explained.
"Not unlike you then," Draco chuckled, and Sloane pinched him.
"Oh, I like him!" Joanna laughed.
"Yeah, he is OK," Sloane responded.
"So are you two -"
"Not having this conversation with you? Absolutely!" Draco cut his mother off.
She pouted. "Well, you may want to answer because here comes the cavalry."
Sloane turned to see Pansy and Astoria practically running through the entryway towards them. Joanna pulled Sloane back behind both Malfoys to listen.
"Mrs Mal -" Astoria started.
"Black," Narcissa corrected her whole demeanour changing, and her voice had a touch of annoyance to it.
"Oh, my apologies, Ms. Black. I just wondered whether you had discussed with Draco my proposal. My father is willing to pay my dowry in advance to you. We can have the contract drawn up this afternoon." She batted her eyelashes at him, and Draco laughed.
