Draco, Harry, Blaise, and Theo decided to have a few drinks in Draco's room, a sort of stag do as Blaise called it. He even managed to get a bottle of Firewhiskey from somewhere. And not to be outdone, Sloane made Theo go and fetch Daphne and invited her to a 'sleepover' she was having with Ginny, Luna, and Hermione. The girls filled Luna in but left Daphne clueless as Theo wanted tomorrow to be a surprise. So they had a pamper evening, doing facemasks, eating sweets, painting their nails, and gossiping while giggling and laughing happily together. It was Sloane's first sleepover with a group of girls, and she had a ball.
The following morning, the whole gang headed down to breakfast, smiling at having another couple in the group. Daphne thought the girls were just trying to include her more, and she was so appreciative of it. Theo was taking her to Theee Broomsticks for lunch and then shopping, telling her he was spoiling her. Poor girl was clueless as to what the rest of the group were up to behind her back.
By 10am, Draco and Sloane were walking hand in hand off towards Hogsmeade in search of wedding bands and a dress. Draco had noticed that Sloane was very quiet as they walked. It made him nervous. Usually, his girlfriend was full of conversation, but today, she hadn't uttered a word to him, other than mentioning how cold it was that day. It was driving him crazy and he didn't know how much more he could take. "Sloane?" He asked maybe a little token loud, making her jump. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
Sloane chuckled. "It's fine. Sorry, I was thinking about the shops in Hogsmeade and wondering what I could get to decorate the Room of Requirement. Sorry, I was miles away. Did you say something?"
Draco shook his head. "You've just been very quiet, and I was worried you were mad at me?"
Sloane stopped walking as Draco turned to look at her. "Why?" She asked, tilting her head to him.
He loved it when she did that. "For what I said yesterday?"
"Which bit?"
He sighed. "When I shouted at the thought that Hermione thought it was me and you who wanted to get married." He looked up to Sloane, expecting pain or sadness to flash in her eyes. But he got nothing.
"No," she shrugged. "You made it pretty obvious you aren't ready for marriage and who can blame you. It's only been a few months." She chuckled. "You're allowed to have feelings, Draco."
"It's just marriage is a huge deal," he explained as they both started walking again. "Colossal. And it's not something that I want to do on a whim. Daphne and Theo don't want a big day with their families, but I do."
"Draco, you don't have to explain yourself," Sloane said, smiling at him. She wasn't worried. She knew how he felt about her, and she knew how she felt about him.
"But I want to. I mean, I love you, Sloane. I do, and if we weren't at school, I might feel different, but I would rather we graduated and -"
Sloane put her hand over his mouth. "Draco," she smiled warmly at him. "I completely agree with you. Don't worry. I'm not annoyed or upset with you. You told me how you feel."
"Very dramatically." He scoffed at himself.
She leant in and kissed him. "You're always a drama queen." She laughed as they headed on. "I want you to feel like you can tell me anything. Even if you think I won't like it. I will always be here for you."
"Good," he said smugly, lifting their hands, which were still intertwined, and brought it up and over her shoulder to hold her closer to him. "And I will always be here for you."
They had reached the outskirts of the village now. "So where to?" Sloane asked. "Is there a jeweller here?"
Draco nodded, pointing to the left along a row of shops. "Anders & Lacy is just up there. Shall we head there first?" Sloane nodded as they made their way up the street. She loved this little village. Everything was so quaint and picturesque. Like Diagon Alley. Full of life and everyone was smiling as they walked with their shopping. It was a Hogsmeade weekend for the other years but very few students usually come this early and 3rd - 5th years follow escourts who leave at 11.45am so they had plenty of time to get their things without anyone noticing.
