Chapter 40, The Queen

The taxi slows to stop and they hear Tasamual inform the knights he has Erray.
The taxi moves a little more and then stops and knights open both doors.

Erray guides Shadow to the knight on her side, "Gently with her. Don't send word. Where are they?"

The knight gently guides Shadow to the hay covered mud, "Lauriah's apartment.
"Search has been ordered and canceled twice. I believe there is reason and panic wrestling at the top."

Erray gets an arm around Shadow and collects her hand, "You need a promotion.
"Pay the taxi double.
"Which way is shortest?"

"I'll lead you."

The knight starts and Erray brings Shadow to follow as the knight orders, "Give the driver full servicing and the reward twice."

The knight adapts the pace as he sees Erray is leading a blind. They hurry at her best speed.

The apartment level is lined with knights, as they leave the stairs Erray spots an officer.

The Sage orders, "Take this knight's name down, he is requested for the monastery."

Erray leaves the knight with the officer and guides the trembling woman through the river of armed vibration.

As they near Lauriah's apartment, they hear the heated debate out the open door.

Lamica fusses, "We have to get out there and try."

Urshawn meets his force equally, "How will you hunt down the wind?

"You're here to get reason in his head."

Father Light calmly states, "He is full of reason, just not the reason you want."

Farsarah fusses her worry, "You won't find him until he wants to be found. You just have to wait... Erray!"

They all look as he guides the black cloaked figure in.

Erray gently reports, "I'm back. I need you all to stay where you are."

Urshawn holds back his emotion, "Who is this?"

Erray centers her in the open space, "Our secret weapon.

"Lauriah, please close the door gently."

He moves slow and gently closes the door as Lamica asks, "Are you alright?"

Erray sasses, "I think I'm better than just alright."

Farsarah laughs her words, "That's a big fat yes."

Shadow shudders as they all relax and breath in relief.

Erray speaks softly, "Shhh. Easy, great beings, you are quaking in emotion.

"I will introduce you first.

"When I name you, say something so she can feel your sound, but stay where you are."

Erray turns her to face each directly as possible, "Shadow, this is Urshawn. I imagine you've heard of him."

Urshawn offers, "Welcome to the castle."

"This is Lord Herpaul, his vibe is breath taking."

Herpaul frowns at Erray, "You should introduce the ladies first."

Erray feels Shadow's silent gasp in her shoulders.

"I'm easing off the vibration by minimizing the unknown."

He turns the blind woman, "This is Lamica, he mutes at your level."

Lamica smiles, "I like shadows, will you always hide?"
