Chapter 3: Honey Eyes, Azure Gaze

Sasaki Pov

His world had been washed in monotone colors. Despite being a 'pure' alpha, he never felt like one. He seldom felt any emotion other than annoyance with himself and those around him. He was too much sometimes to those around him. The memory of his sister being pushed to the ground, accidental by his strength.

"You're an Alpha, Shuumei! Learn to control your strength!" Her teary-eyed shouts made him fear his own self. Of what he could potentially do. Especially to omegas.

So he went with Ogasawara to an all-boys school. At least he could stay to himself, and guy omegas were rare, so he could dodge that.

Boy, had he been wrong. So, so wrong. And looking back, he was so glad he had been.

The sound of fighting drew him closer, but the sight of the one beaten up made his inner alpha stir. Protect pack. It was a strange thought, but he didn't have time to think much of it. He just jumped into the fray.

He stopped the fist from connecting with the younger one's face, and he used his strength to push two of the bullies off of him. "Hey, you okay?" he asked the one he was protecting, who looked shocked at him.

"Yeah?"

"Don't butt in!" An alpha snarled at him, and Sasaki focused on dodging blows and fending the other alpha off the beta. That earned him a few punches to the chest and face, and he wasn't able to stop the main alpha attacker from pinning the boy against the wall.

"Hey! Leave him alone!" The growl behind those words had Sasaki looking up, and his breath caught instantly.

Dazzling brown eyes were narrowed in anger, their depths like molten honey... His soft features were tense as he growled, and Sasaki would have found such a sight cute if that growl didn't just strike him to the core. His inner alpha reared its head and pawed at the sight of the cute boy.

"Miyano." The guy he was trying to protect spoke out, and the sound of his name echoed in Sasaki's mind.

Miyano... His name is Miyano. It was like both his inner alpha and himself were in sync with each other for once.

"Another one shows up?" That alpha was grating Sasaki's nerves, but the next words Miyano spoke halted his entire life.

"I said, leave him alone."

A shudder ran through him, and he suddenly wanted to bare his neck. Wait, what? Did alphas even do that? When he looked for those honey eyes again, he gasped at how strikingly blue they became. The azure blue was narrowed into near slits, and sparkled as they zeroed in on the group of bullies.

Omega. His inner alpha purred, and even rolled over as if hit with dopamine. What was going on?

"You're not going to hurt them anymore." The command, because that's what it was, was spoken so carefully in such a cute voice that Sasaki felt like he had whiplash. An omega was commanding alphas? His command was stronger than an alpha?

The attackers fled, almost tripping over their own feet as they went. Sasaki could only stare at the smaller guy in front of him. The raw power radiated off him like sinewy silk that wrapped around Sasaki and caressed every inch of him. He felt like his heart was lodged in his throat, and all he could do was stare at this magnificent being in front of him.
