A/N: This is by far the heaviest chapter I've written. This is one I plotted out in the very beginning, and it's a little surreal to see that we're here. So if you're sensitive to heavy angst, I fully understand if you want to wait till chapter 33 for when it's resolved. If not, I hope you enjoy this chapter. :)

Chapter 31: It'll All Be Fine

Miyano Pov

It was the start of a new school year, and his last one as a highschooler. Already he felt off without Sasaki's constant presence. His mate would no longer be getting up early just to ride the train with him.

It helped that he had Tashiro by his side, so it was hard to stay sad with his brother's sunny demeanor.

"Let's go! We're third years now!" The beta grinned as they got off the train and went to meet up with Kuresawa. It was the three of them again, just like when they first started highschool.

"You're going to be captain now of your club, right?" Miyano asked him, and he was surprised when Tashiro didn't lose spirit. He seemed more driven.

"Yep! Maa-kun left it in my hands so I'm gonna do my best!"

The omega smiled at that, and was surprised when he saw Kuresawa standing with Kagiura by their usual coffee place.

"Kagiura? I've never seen you over this way... Don't you normally sleep in a little?" Miyano asked him, and watched as the alpha rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

"I, uh, couldn't sleep really well by myself... I got sort of anxious without Hirano there to wake me up."

At once, Miyano let out soothing pheromones. Of course he wouldn't be the only one suffering! Hirano and Kagiura were roommates for two years! Miyano couldn't imagine what being apart after so long was doing to them...

They walked to school together, and Kagiura's tense shoulders slowly eased up the more they tried to cheer him up. Miyano only wished the alpha was in the same class as them, so maybe it would help him more. After the entrance ceremony, Miyano met up with his classmates at the lockers.

"So... same class, huh?" The omega spoke casually as he put away his shoes and slipped on his school ones.

"Actually, I switched classes."

The abrupt answer shocked both Miyano and Tashiro, and they both looked at their head beta.

Kuresawa smiled reassuringly. "I got into the advanced class, so I can hopefully get the scholarship I need for college. Besides, you guys'll be fine without me."

Already Miyano could feel how his inner omega grew more rattled at this. He would have to keep it under control. He smiled instead, wanting to support his packmate. "That's great! We'll see each other in between classes and at lunch, right?"

Kuresawa nodded, green eyes bright. "Yes. We still got the same lunch spot to ourselves. I'll see you guys then." He walked off, and Miyano had to quickly cut his gaze away so he could walk in the opposite direction.

It's fine.

"Aniki? Hey," Tashiro stopped him, and Miyano could feel his worry before he looked at his face. "Are you sure you're okay with this? This whole situation has been really tense for you, and now Kuresawa is..."

"It'll be fine." Miyano forced the reassurance. Ever since they became closer, Tashiro has started to get in tune with things that bothered him. Miyano didn't know if this was a good thing or not.
