Chapter 35: Bright Next Step

A/N: Hi hi~ This is the end of this Arc! :) So sorry for the extreme delay on this one, I've been sick for a little while (severe sinus congestion issues) and couldn't focus on anything, but I'm feeling a little better now so I wanted to finish this up for you all! Sorry if this chapter feels rushed at all, I'm just too eager to get to the college arc starting next chapter~

Chapter 35: Bright Next Step

Miyano couldn't stop fidgeting as he sat in the cheap plastic chair. His mate and mom sat on either side of him, effectively calming him with their presence. They chatted about random things, trying to distract him from his growing nerves.

He couldn't help but smile at the current subject.

"I think compared with Sasaki-san's good looks and my Yoshi-kun's cute charm my grandchild will simply be the most adorable baby ever... Even though Yoshi-kun was the cutest baby, and so well-mannered too..." His mom was gushing now, and Sasaki was humoring her with equal interest.

"Aw, I'd love to see cute Mya-chan baby pictures~"

Miyano was absolutely alarmed by this and was just about to put a stop to what was about to transpire when his mom eagerly shoved her phone at him.

"I have them with me! See, a whole album!" There were flowers and sparkles practically erupting from the older omega as she smiled and showed off the album holding over a hundred pictures of him as a baby.

"No..." Miyano groaned, but knew it was a losing fight for him as Sasaki was immediately entranced at the sight of his chubby infant self swallowed in a bunny onesie.

"So cute!!" Sasaki trilled happily, his voice singing as the two excitedly went through the album.

Miyano would very much like for the ground to swallow him up now, or at least for the doctor to come in to put a stop to this madness.

Luckily, one of the two happened, and the door opened and Dr. Minamoto walked in. The pure beta stopped for a moment at the sight before him, as Miyano probably would have. He recovered, and went on to sit in front of them.

His mom and Sasaki put away the baby pictures and focused on what the doctor had to say.

"The test results are in, would you like the news?"

The three nodded, and the doctor handed them a paper to look at. They all pressed in closer to see that the pregnancy was a negative. Miyano had to blink rapidly at the news.

"Oh." It was all he could mutter, feeling the disappointed stirring from his inner omega. Of course it would be, but him? He was happy by this news. As much as he wanted to grow a family with Sasaki, he knew they weren't ready for that yet... So why did the news make him frown so much?

"Yoshikazu?" Sasaki breathed close to his ear, and he felt him wrap an arm around his waist to pull him closer. His alpha was worried, his attention set fully on him and nothing else.

Miyano swallowed before nodding, accepting the news. Maybe it had been how everyone he loved being so accepting for whatever the news would be that he had found himself slowly accepting the fact that he could very well have a child. So the idea of it hadn't been so scary and daunting to him, he... He had started accepting that part of him through everyone being so kind. Their kindness nurtured in him to weed out the negative view he had on himself.
