Sasaki Pov

Sasaki really didn't want to leave Miyano alone, but he had to. He had to respect his wishes, even if his inner alpha was growling and crying out.

It was harder to walk away from him, but he also knew he needed rest. Hopefully he would see him at school.

The next day came, and Sasaki felt like his instincts were going to rip him apart. He was constantly on edge and glancing around him. He just couldn't figure out why he felt this way. Was it Miyano? Did he need him?

He checked the group chat, but Miyano hadn't shown up yet to school. This was worrisome, and Sasaki was about ready to bolt from class and go straight to the omega when his phone buzzed.

| | Running late. I'll be there during lunch, can you guys wait for me by the entrance?  -Miyano

| | Of course!! Are you okay?  -Sasaki

But there wasn't another reply, and Sasaki felt antsy for the bell to hurry up and let them out already.

He had been so close the past few weeks to spilling his confession for the younger boy, and having such close contact wasn't helping him. He wanted more. He needed Miyano to know how he felt about him, but there was always a creeping doubt that the omega didn't want him back. Despite their near-kiss, and Miyano saying he wanted it, how much had he actually wanted it? He had been sick during that, and Sasaki hadn't realized!

Sasaki swiftly got up once the class ended, and he felt Hirano right behind him. As he got to the entrance where their lockers were, he turned around and saw that it wasn't just Hirano, but Ogasawara too. He had been talking this whole time, but Sasaki's hyper-fixation hadn't heard a word. He only wanted to be with Miyano.

"What are you doing here?" Sasaki asked him, feeling his inner alpha stir at how annoyed Ogasawara seemed.

"I've been telling you! Eimi had some guy ask her to be apart of his pack! Can you believe that?"

"Look, can we talk about this later? I get that you're upset, but we really have our own pack thing to deal with right now." Hirano told him, sounding exasperated.

"Sasaki?"

The orange-haired teen instantly turned to that voice as if it was his siren's call. There he was, but the sight of him clearly struggling broke Sasaki's heart. His face was flushed and distraught, and he was holding his chest as if it hurt. He seemed so much smaller in that moment, and all Sasaki wanted to do was scoop him up into his arms and take all the pain away. "Miyano..." Was all he could get out.

"Miyano? Wait, it's him!" Ogasawara was suddenly walking past him to get to Miyano.

That isn't going to happen. Heat rose within him, and before Sasaki could think it through he moved to stand in between them, shielding Miyano completely. "Back off." He growled threateningly as his inner alpha claimed control. Protect him.

Ogasawara flinched from the other alpha, but he was upset enough to stand his ground. "Miyano is the guy's name that Eimi talked about! The one that asked her to join his pack!"

"Pack?" Miyano's soft confusion was both endearing and concerning. Sasaki could smell just how distressed the omega had become.

"Yeah! Why are you making a move on my girlfriend?!"

Ogasawara's anger was directed at Miyano now, and Sasaki was very close to tearing into him. It wouldn't be the first time him and Ogasawara had a fight, growing up as alphas they had plenty, but this time he might not be able to hold back. Omega in danger.
