Chapter 1: She Was Gone

Hunhow woke up around 9:37 in the morning. He wasn't sure why he was still in bed. It was a school day, his mom always wakes him up. Did she sleep in? No that couldn't be. Hunhow got up and began to walk to his mom's room. He knocked on the door and slowly turned the door knob. There he found his mom. 14 year old Autistic Hunhow didn't know that he would make a shocking discovery. "Mom, can you hear me"? He asked her. "Mom, wake up, you need to go to work" he said. Hunhow kept shaking her until he finally realized she wasn't breathing. He shook and shook but she wouldn't wake up. Hunhow began to panic and ran to call his uncle. His uncle, uncle maverick picked up. "Hello, who's calling" Uncle Maverick asked. "Uncle I need help!!" Hunhow screamed. "Mommy she won't wake up". "I'm scared he says" "Okay buddy, calm down" Maverick says. "I'll be right there". "Don't hang up". "I won't" Hunhow says almost crying.

~ 34 Minutes later ~

Uncle Maverick arrives at the house and he basically kicks in the door. "Hunhow!? He shouts. "I'm here" hunhow replies. "Where's your mother"? Maverick asks hunhow. "In there" hunhow replies. Maverick rushes into the room. He finds Hunhow's mother Chelsea lying motionless. He realizes there is nothing he can do. He sits down with Hunhow and tells him "it's gonna be okay, It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay buddy". Hunhow starts sobbing and crying uncontrollably. Hours later the paramedics arrive. And come to take Hunhow's mother away. "What's going to happen to me" hunhow ask? "You can stay with me til we find out what we can do" Uncle Maverick Says.

~ 3 Months Later ~

Hunhow ends up in an Adoption program for both Humans and Anthropomorphic children. He spends his nights and days watching TV, playing games, doing homework, and talking with other kids his age and older. His uncle stops by twice a week, every week. Hunhow makes a lot of friends with the kids. They all came from families who were unable to take care of them at birth and gave them up for adoption or simply they were taken from abusive homes or families and brought here. One day a nurse came in and told Hunhow something he almost never expected. "Hunhow, some folks came here to see you" she said excitedly too. "I bet it is my uncle" Hunhow said to himself. But it wasn't his uncle. It was two grown furry Anthro wolves. They looked to be a couple probably married.

They came towards Hunhow's room. They entered and seemed quite happy. "Joseph, I think he is the one" Jane said. Joseph looked at Jane and then back at Hunhow. He got down to Hunhow's height. "Hey buddy, don't be afraid" he said in a soft but sharp voice. "We came here to adopt you" he says. "Adopt me"? "Yeah, we wanted to adopt you and bring you to your new home" Joseph said. "Joseph discussed what adopt meant to Hunhow and he promised Hunhow to love him like a son. After a long conversation, Hunhow was so happy that a family came to adopt him. "Well then, I guess it is settled then" Jane said happily. "Come on buddy, lets go pack up your stuff". They helped Hunhow pack up all his stuff. His games, toys, clothes, blankets, everything. After filling out the paperwork, Joseph picked up Hunhow in his arms and together Hunhow, Jane and Joseph walked to the car.

~ Hour and a half later ~

"Wake up buddy" a voice called out. Hunhow opened his eyes and discovered that his uncle was also there at the house. "Uncle Maverick!!" Hunhow leaped out the car and hugged his uncle. "Hey buddy, I'm glad you're okay". "Come on, let's go inside".

~ Sometimes Later ~

After touring his new home and with the help of his uncle, Hunhow managed to fit into his new surroundings. He made his bed and set up all the new nice things that Joseph and Jane brought for him. Finally they all went into the dining room. "Your uncle is a good friend of mine" Jane tells Hunhow. "Me and Joseph couldn't have our own children and I couldn't get pregnant so we decided to adopt a child". She explained. "When we heard about what happened to your mom our hearts were just broken" she said almost tearing up. "So we asked your uncle if we could have his blessing and adopt you". "He said yes, so that's why we adopted you from the program" Jane said. "Son, Joseph began to speak, I promise we will raise you as our own. We will love you and make sure you never ever feel alone". "And I'll always be around to see you grow and have a great childhood" Uncle Maverick chimes in. From that day on Hunhow lived with his new mom and dad. He was loved, cared for, and grew up to spend the next 4 years of his childhood in his new home....
