Chapter 25: Welp, This Ain't Good

Hunhow wakes up the next morning. Unfortunately for him he is an hour and half late for school. He completely forgot that the last day of spring break was yesterday and he chose to spend it doing a dirty money job and not with Crystal or family. He gets up and runs into his mom Jane who was waiting for him. "Hunhow, you slept in and you're late" she said in an annoyed tone. Hunhow didn't argue, he apologized and quickly went to get ready. About 15 minutes later he comes flying down the stairs. He doesn't eat breakfast, he just decides to skip it. He quickly hugs his mom goodbye for the day since his dad already left for work. Hunhow leaves and gets in his truck. He practically speeds and breaks a couple traffic laws while on his way to school.

~ Time Skip ~ 25 Minutes Later ~

Hunhow arrives at the school parking lot and quickly shuts off his truck. He jumps out, slams the door shut and runs to the entrance of the school. He makes it inside and greets the front desk crocodile administrator. She signs him in and he rushes to his first period class which is pretty much almost over since it ends at 10:15 and it was 9:58. He makes it to the class and an Anthro lizard asks why he was late. He tells the truth and says he slept in and forgot spring break was over. The teacher thought about it and let Hunhow off the hook knowing that he is an early and on time person who probably just made a mistake. He signs in relief and then goes to his seat and sits down. He snaps a couple photos of the board so he at least has some information from the class. The bell rings and he goes to his second period class where he meets up with his friends and Crystal. "Well, never thought I'd see you late before" Jennifer teases. "Minor setback, I'll live" he responds. They all go to enter the second period class and all sit at their group table. Crystal puts her hand on Hunhow's shoulder and whispers in his ear. "Where were you"? "I had some business to take care of, I went to bed late and woke up not on time". She nods her head and kisses him on the cheek before resuming with the lesson.

~ Time Skip ~ Lunch Time ~

Hunhow, Lizzie and Jennifer leave to go to lunch while Crystal and Marcus stay behind. As he drives, Lizzie brings up the topic of the militia Hunhow is in. He explains what militias are and how they work. He also explains how he joined when he was 16. The conversation about the 1st and 2nd amendment and militia training goes on for a while. But Jennifer then asked something that made Hunhow a little uneasy. "So who was that vixen who was with you"? Hunhow somewhat doesn't understand how the conversation switched to that. But he explains how he has been friends with Holly. How she had a good relationship with him and his father as well as his uncle. "Oh, I thought you kinda liked her a little". "Nah of course not". "She is older, has a totally different style and is just a good friend" he says. The conversation switched back to the militia before they finally reached the diner. They all ordered food to go and went back to eat it in his truck. They all drove back to the school and continued with the day.

~ Time Skip ~ End of the day ~

Hunhow finishes the day strong and chats with his friends. He waved goodbye and goes to leave the school until a few familiar faces stop him. It's Fritz, Hugo and Edmund. They all greeted and explain how they are having their first spring hockey preseason game. They ask him if he wants to come and watch and Hunhow decides sure. "Sure, I'll come". "Thanks dude, I'll text you the ticket and seat numbers" Fritz says. They all fist bump and part ways while Hunhow goes to leave school.

~ Hunhow Arrives Home ~

Hunhow gets out his truck and goes to the front door. When he enters, his mom Jane is waiting for him. "Hunhow I'm still disappointed you slept in and we're late". "Oh my God, can you quit complaining" he says to himself in his head. "Mom, I'm sorry". "I was out late and forgot about the schedule". Jane doesn't like the fact Hunhow was out late and has been out late alot in the past month. "Honey, this out after dark habit is not working for me or your father". "And now I'm afraid it's going to effect your sleep". "So starting today for the rest of the week, you will be on a curfew and you must be home by 10pm". "WHAT"!?! Hunhow can't believe this. "Mom, that's not fair". "It was just one little mistake". "You know I don't sleep in and miss school" he says. "Sweetheart I know, but you need to take responsibility". "But Fritz and his friends invited me to their preseason hockey game tomorrow". "It doesn't end til 11:20 PM". "I'm afraid you'll just have to miss it" she says. "You are so incredibly UNFAIR"!! Hunhow yells. Hunhow goes to walk up the stairs but he muffles a curse word underneath his breath. "Bitch". Jane's ears rasie up and she all of a sudden growls. "EXCUSE ME"?! Hunhow stops cold knowing she just heard him. "WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME"?! Jane is very angry now and is bearing her teeth. "Umm, nothing". "HUNHOW, I heard what you said". "NOW GET OVER HERE"!! Hunhow panics and takes off. "HEY"!! Jane takes off after him. He runs upstairs and slams the door and locks it before she has a chance to grab him. "YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE YOUNG MAN" she yells before stomping back down the stairs.

~ Time Skip ~

Joseph comes home and Jane tells him about Hunhow's attitude. He goes upstairs and bangs on the door demanding he opens it. He hears the anger in his father's voice and quickly opens it. "APOLOGIZE to your mother, NOW"!! Joseph yells. Hunhow goes downstairs and apologizes for calling his mother a bitch. "Your Grounded for 2 Weeks". "NO Phone, No Computer, No hanging out with friends or Crystal and you are NOT going to that hockey game, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME"?!? Jane tells him. "Y-y-yes mom". "I'm sorry". "I won't ever do this to you again". "Whatever, NOW GET UPSTAIRS!!" she yells. Hunhow walks upstairs and goes to his room. He calls Fritz and tells him about the current situation. Fritz tells him not to worry and that they can talk at school tomorrow. Hunhow hangs up and calls his friends and Crystal to tell them the bad news. They all laugh at him which annoys him. He then tells them he'll see em in school tomorrow. He hangs up and prepares to give his electronics to his parents. He waits for them to move out of the living room and goes to put them on the sofa before running back upstairs. "Welp, this ain't good" he says to himself.

~ Time Skip ~

Hunhow sits in his room. He is staring off into space just wondering what he has to do. He then hears a light knock on the door and he panics. He ducks under his bed like a little kid. The knocks continue. He quickly fumbles to his feet and goes to open the door. Jane comes inside his room and leaves a plate of food on his dresser. "Mom, I-I" she cuts him off. "I don't want to hear a peep out of you until morning". "Now eat your damm food and go to bed" she says growling. Hunhow watches her leave. He eats the food and goes to bed. He wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to use the restroom. He hears his mom and dad talking. "I shouldn't had yelled at him like that" he hears Jane saying. "He didn't mean it". "Let's just try and talk to him tomorrow" Joseph says. Hunhow quickly backs away from the door and runs back to his room.

~ Time Skip ~

Hunhow gets up almost 2 hours early. He is scared his parents will yell at him so he quickly leaves and goes to get ready. He showers, gets dressed, grabs his car keys. He doesn't even make or eat anything. He just quickly goes to leave. He walks outside and goes to his truck and hops in. He starts it up and goes to drive to school. After 32 minutes Hunhow arrives at school. He is still a hour early before the school officially opens and decides to sleep in his truck until then. He is scared of what his parents will say to him when he comes home. He never had seen his mother nor father that angry before. "They'll eat me alive" he says to himself shivering.

~ Time Skip ~

Hunhow goes into school but surprisingly he is the only one at school today outta his entire group of friends and Crystal. He sits alone and tries to figure out what he can do to make it up to his parents when Fritz and his friends come up to him. They fist bump and all sit down next to him. He explains his situation and together they all give him some advice on how he can possibly make it up to them. He thanks them for offering words of support. Principal Jessica comes in and goes over the schedule for the day. Hunhow, Fritz and his friends part ways and Hunhow goes to spend the day alone and bored. "Don't complain". "You did this to yourself" he says in his head.

~ Time Skip ~

Hunhow goes home. He begins to shiver not knowing how his parents will respond to him leaving early without telling them and the events which unfolded yesterday. But he knows he cannot go anywhere else and must do this. He enters the house and his parents aren't home. He sees a note and it says that they both went out to do errands and will be back soon. He quickly begins to do things he discussed with Fritz. He quickly sweeps and mops the floor, cleans the dishes, take out the trash and even fixes some broken glass that shattered when his mother chased him. He hears their cars both pulling into the driveway and he quickly finishes and runs upstairs and hides in his room. He hears the downstairs door open and Jane and Joseph are quite surprised and taken aback by the clean house. "Sweetheart, are you home" his mom calls out. He doesn't respond he just goes to sleep under his covers shivering and nervous. His mom and dad come into his room and see him sleeping so they just shut the light off and fix his blanket before leaving. But before they leave, Jane kisses him on the cheek. They leave the room and Hunhow sleeps peacefully unaware of what just happened...
