Chapter 33: The Return Of The Punisher

Hunhow wakes up the next morning. He once again smiles that weird smile again before going to take a shower and get dressed. He comes downstairs and makes a bowl of cereal. Afterwards, he finishes and sits down to watch the news. Every news station in the city even the Furry National News in NYC is talking about crime. "Neighbors reported hearing loud gunfire from the industrial warehouse". "They then see an individual leave carrying a couple assault rifles". "They then called the police and the police responded to the scene to find 26 bodies". Hunhow watches the news report until it ends. They don't mention the names of the suspects at the moment. But he knows it won't take long for them to find out sooner or later. He turns the TV off and goes to call Lizzie. He promised last night he would hang out with her today. So he calls her and she answers. He tells her he can meet up in an hour and half. She tells him no worries and that she will be ready. He goes to his truck and drives to her house.

~ Hunhow Arrives at Lizzie's House ~

After waiting for a few minutes and the honk of the horn, Lizzie comes outside and heads towards his truck. She gets in and waves goodbye to her parents. They then drive off and they begin to talk. "So how has post high school life been"? she asked. "It's been okay". "Little boring but fun for the most part". "National Guard training isn't that bad either". "Weren't you thinking about joining the guard as a military career"? she asked him. "Oh of course". "I love serving my country". "I just have to wait til I'm 21". "So, I've been just doing other jobs". "Oh, I get it". They talk for a while before arriving at the mall. Hunhow and Lizzie get out and head to the front entrance. They then go to a few shops and he tells her to get whatever she wants. "Oh, you don't have to do that". "I brought money too and it isn't really expensive here" she said. "I know but today's on me so don't worry about it" he says. "Wow, you're such a gentleman" she says while blushing. They buy some food afterwards and go to sit in the small cafeteria space upstairs. While they are sitting and watching TV while eating a news report shows up. It is a special report and the city's police chief is answering questions. "We have confirmation that the two groups involved in the possible warehouse shooting were both rival gangs". "However what makes this more important is that several of the victims were actually wanted in connection with a double shooting in the city's downtown branch that injured a 12 year old and 15 year old". "The crime scene was gruesome but a calling card was that no bullet casings were found at the scene". "And this is what leaves us to believe that the former vigilante known as the Punisher is back. "He leaves no traces of bullet casings, no finger prints, no DNA". "We determined that the bullets used were military heavy ammunition of both 5.56 and 7.62". "This ammunition has been found to be involved in a few other cases in the past involving the Punisher and his brutal killings". "We don't have enough evidence now but our crime lab is working to uncover more details". "We wish the public to remain calm and not jump to conclusions". The media reporters flood the chief and her advisors with countless questions. And while they are busy answering as many as they can, Lizzie is watching the TV while partially studying Hunhow and his body language. Hunhow easily plays and blows off the whole story as ridiculous considering they don't even have any leads, evidence, time stamp, weapons or even suspects. Lizzie's suspicions are easily broken by his act. And he signs in his head as relief. Afterwards they decided to head to the arcade and play a few games. One of Hunhow's favorite was Terminator Salvation while a few others were military games. He then plays some air hockey with Lizzie and a few other people they meet. He easily beats them all. Finally they decided to leave and go get some ice cream. It was September so it was still technically summer and the day was kinda hot. They went to go get ice cream at another shop which was a little bit further away from the mall. Once they got the ice cream, they sat in the bed of his pickup truck. Finally they almost huddle together just to take in the site as it starts to become dark and the first stars start to form in the sky. Afterwards they call it a day and night and get back in to go home. He drives Lizzie to her house and greets her family. Afterwards, he drives home to his house. He sits down and then gets a message from Holly. "It seems you were busy yesterday night" she texted. "LOL, yup". "I guess I'm back, baby" Hunhow replies. They text for a while before Hunhow goes to fall asleep. He once again smiles that weird smile before zoning out and drifting off to the dream world....
