Chapter 27: Good Deed and Discovery

Hunhow drives around at night. He searches the streets for anyone up to no good. After a while he stops at a small liquor store. He is hesitant to show he ID for fears of being identified but he knows he cannot steal from the store. He decides he doesn't want liquor and just leaves to go buy some monster energy drinks. After buying the drinks, he goes to his truck and sits inside it. He begins to drink for a while. But as he is about to open his second energy drink, he hears a woman yelling for help. Hunhow knows this woman might need assistance so he quickly grabs his M416A4 and Black Thin Blue Line Hoodie and heads towards the direction of the cries for help. He comes across an Anthro shark and she is being mugged by 2 other Anthro robbers. They appear to be mountain lions and are dressed in masks and hoodies. "Get off of me, you basterds" she yells. "Give me the damn purse you bitch" one of the mountain lions yells. He is holding her by her neck and she is kicking to break free but then all of a sudden he is punched in the face and falls to the ground. She falls to the ground gasping for air and then looks up to see Hunhow standing in front of her. "Ma'am leave, I'll handle this" Hunhow tells her while tossing his assault rifle aside. But surprisingly, she refuses. "No, I got a score to settle with these punks" she says. "Your dead, shark scum" one of the mountain lions says. They both charge Hunhow and the female shark. Hunhow rushes the one on the left and lands a right hook to his lower side. The mountain lion flinches and Hunhow quickly delivers a roundhouse spin kick to his chest. The lion is stunned but not down. He gets up holding himself before resuming to continue the fight. Meanwhile, the shark Anthro uses her tail and claws to fight the other mountain lion. She claws his face and then bites his right arm. He kicks and punches her and she falls back. He grabs her by her shoulders and tries to lift her. But she uppercuts him in the chin and slams his head against the wall. She proceeds to grab his head and slams it against the dumpsters. He goes down. She then watches as Hunhow continues to fight the other Anthro Mountain lion. He dodges a few attacks and uppercuts the lion in the groin. He then kicks him back into the trash. The lion decides to fight with a weapon and removes a large wooden stick from the trash next to him. The lion swings the wooden stick but before it can strike Hunhow, he grabs it with his left hand and knees him in the face. He body slams him to the ground. The lion still won't stay down. Hunhow pulls his knife and fights the mountain lion with the military knife. He slashes the mountain lion's face then his ankle. The lion is stunned and Hunhow takes full advantage by ramming his knife straight into the mountain lion's chest. He stumbles and struggles to stand. Hunhow then stabs him in the left side of his neck. The lion gurgles on his own blood before Hunhow kicks him in the face sending the back of his head slamming into the wall. He then turns to see the shark Anthro as she is stunned by his fighting. But while she is distracted the other mountain lion grabs her from behind. He tries to use a bear hug to restrain her. Hunhow reacts quickly and throws his knife towards the lion and it strikes him in the left eye. He then falls to the ground, dead. The female shark is taken aback by the fight and struggles before fainting.

~ Time Skip ~ Few Hours Later ~

The female Anthro wakes up in the back seat of Hunhow's truck. She panics at the sight of him and tries to flee. But he points a gun at her and she quickly stops and raises her hands. "Try anything and I blow your brains out, you dumb fish" he says. "Take whatever you want from my purse, please just don't hurt me" she says. "Relax ma'am, I don't want any trouble". She looks around to see she has had some bandages put on her cuts and bruises she sustained during the fight. "Wait, why are you helping me"? she asked. "Because it's the right thing to do". "I'm taking you to the hospital to get checked out" he says. "No no, no hospital" she yells. "Why"? he asked surprised. "It's not safe for you" she said. Hunhow didn't understand why she was concerned about him. "Because, they could identify you". "Someone could figure out who you are". "Please I will go and tell them I got mugged" she said. "No ma'am, I'm taking you to the hospital and that's the end of it" he said to her annoyed. "WAIT, Y-Your t-the Punisher". "I thought you already figured that out when you said you didn't want me being identified" he said back to her. She waited a few moments then spoke. "What happened when I was out"? Hunhow explained how after killing the 2 Anthros, he picked her up and bandaged her. She seemed thankful. "Umm, what's your name" she asked. "That is a need to know". "And all you need to know is your being dropped off at the hospital" he tells her. "Jeez relax, I was just curious" she said. "But tell me, why were you fighting those punks, anyway? She didn't say anything for a few seconds. "When I saw the skull on the back of your hoodie, I knew who you were". "But I didn't want you to think I was some weak Anthro girl who can't fight let alone protect herself". Hunhow takes a moment to respond to her comment. "You are not weak". "So don't let anyone else say otherwise". She almost blushes at what he says. "What"? he asked her. "Oh nothing, it's j-just that u-um". "Hmm, what is it" he asked. "You seem quite charming when you're not out killing people" she says blushing red. "Yeah, I get that". "I know you said you wouldn't give me your name". "But can I ask why you enjoy killing  people"? Her question made him freeze. He didn't have a answer to her question. He felt, cold at the thought. "I-I kill because there is no point in giving these low lives a second chance". "They wronged many and they would continue to do so". "There was once a time when I believed in second chances". "Second chances to mend the broken and start over". "But time and time again, those promises were broken and they started down that path again and again and again". "That when I realized the time for second chances was over". "They would do it all again if they were given the chance". "There's no future for People or Anthros like that". He lays it all out for her. She sits there remaining quiet for a few minutes until finally speaking again. "So why would you help the innocent like me, if all you do is kill"? she asked him. "Because I protect the innocent and punish evil" he says.

~ Time Skip ~ Hour Later ~

Hunhow arrives at the hospital. He leaves the truck and goes to the back right side passenger door to help the Anthro shark. "You don't have to go in there with me" she says nervously. "I know, but I rather see you alright then in pain" he says. She partially blushes at the comment. He goes to help her stand and she puts her arm around his shoulder as he helps her to the entrance. They go inside, and meet a front desk worker. He is a male Anthro Hawk and he takes a good look at them before quickly calling for a hospital wheelchair. Hunhow and the doctors take her to a small room and she is put in bed. They began the normal protocol hospitalization for Humans and Anthros who are victims of physical attacks. He explains that he found her mugged and beaten up. The doctors don't seem to question Hunhow's explanation and continue with treatment.

~ Time Skip ~ 1 Hour Later ~

Hunhow sits by the Anthro shark's bed and she wakes up after treatment. She looks over and thanks him again for helping her. There is then a knock on the door. "Come in" Hunhow says. A doctor enters and tells the Anthro her friend has arrived to spend the night at the hospital to look after her. She thanks the doctor and the doctor goes to inform the friend. "Well, I might need to get going" Hunhow says. "Oh, okay". "Thank you for helping me". "I won't forget the kindness you showed". Hunhow waves goodbye and goes to leave but right when he walks out the door, he bumps right into the friend on his way out. He apologizes and looks at the friend who appears to be a orange, yellow and blonde vixen. She then gasps and Hunhow quickly sees who it is. "Hunhow"?!? Hunhow recognizes her voice and looks to see Holly standing in front of him. "What are you doing here"!? "Does your mother or father know your here"? He panics and quickly takes off down the hall. "WAIT" she shouts as she takes off after him. He runs through the waiting room before running to the parking lot. He quickly unlocks and jumps in his truck. He fumbles for the keys and puts them into the ignition. He starts up the truck and quickly pulls out but not before glancing to see Holly staring at him as he is leaving. "Fuck, Fuck, FUCK" he shouts. "This is SO not good" he says. He quickly drives home. Constantly glancing over his shoulders to see if anyone is following him. Luckily nobody is.

~ Time Skip ~ Arriving Home ~

Hunhow quickly puts brass knuckles and Glock 30 away and checks his truck to make sure he hasn't forgotten anything. He leaves and rushes to open the door. He is panicking not only because he ran into Holly but because he is still grounded and is 3 hours past his 10PM curfew. He checks to make sure the cost is clear and runs upstairs. He sees his parents are both completely passed out asleep and he signs in relief. He goes to his room and gets undressed. He knows that if Holly calls his parents and tells them that he was at the hospital that could be bad news for him. He decides to sleep on his current situation and figure out what to do when the dust and sand has settled...
