Chapter 47: It Has To Be This Way

Hunhow wakes up the following day. He calls all his friends and family. They all give him words of support and courage. He informs them all today is the day he will turn himself in. He goes to wake up Holly and inform her. She gets up, gets dressed and goes with him to his truck. Once he gets inside, they both kiss and hug each other almost not letting go. "It has to be this way" he tells her. "Promise me, you'll come home one day" she said. He looked her in the eyes and said, "I always come back". Together they drive away.

~ Time Skip ~ Few Hours Later ~

Hunhow and Holly drive to the NYPD bureau and special investigations. He and Holly look at each other and then get out of the truck. They both take a deep breath and look at each other before spending one last kiss together. They walk in and Hunhow goes to the front desk where there are both Anthro and human officers. He then explains he is here to turn himself in and that he is the punisher. They look at him in shock but radio to the building and its chief. Hunhow holds his arms out and they carefully but gently cuff him. He is then to be sent off to the interrogation room. He looks back and whispers "I love you" to Holly. She whispers back saying "I love you too". He is led away in handcuffs.

~ Time Skip ~ Sometime Later ~

Hunhow is questioned for nearly 2 hours. About his crime spree, the murders, the cartels, gangs, mafias, shootouts, beatings, tortures, etc. He shows no emotion and gives all the evidence to the police. However the police aren't hostile. They don't even consider him a threat. They have him removed from his cuffs and offer words of support. He doesn't understand why they don't consider him a criminal, a murder, or a violent person. Finally after answering his questions. The police chief walks in. She sits down with him and talks to him about what he has done. But she asked him a question that she wasn't expecting to get a shocking answer to. "How old are you"? she asked. He took a few moments before looking up to her and replied. "19 ma'am". "I'm 19" he says. Her eyes widen and she is at a loss for words. She almost begins to tear up but he assures her he is alright and doesn't need sympathy. She spends the next few hours asking question after question while giving him a few breaks. She even offers to give him food and water. After spending the whole day in the interrogation room he is then moved to a cell that he will share to himself. He spends the next several days in the cell while awaiting trial and his court arrangement. He watches TV, sleeps a lot and prays to God asking for forgiveness and promising to turn his life around if he is ever given a second chance.

~ Time Skip ~ Several Days Later ~

It has been almost a week since Hunhow has been in jail. He spends his days pacing back and fourth in his cell, eating, sleeping, praying and watching the News for reports and updates. However then all of a sudden a guard taps on his cell door. It is then opened and the guard tells him that someone is here to see him. And that he is going home. Hunhow's eyes widen and his body shot up from his bed. When he gets up he is escorted to the post bail room. He has his clothes and items returned. When he he finishes filling out paper work, he is escorted to a small room. When he enters the room he is greeted by a familiar face. It's Looma and she quickly runs to him and embraces him. She tells him that she with the request of the city and state government has pardoned him of all his crimes. He is taken aback by her words and goes to sit down. "Y-you did this f-or me"? he asked. "I wanted Hunhow Jamis Riley to have closure" she said. They hug before she helps him to his feet. She and Hunhow are escorted outside of the NYPD Bureau. There he is greeted by his parents and friends. They all hug and embrace him. There is so much crying and hugging but he assures them all he is fine. He goes home with Holly and his family and he spends the rest of the day happy and with his family....
