Chapter 6: The Party

Hunhow races home and makes it there in time by 7:14PM. He high tails it to the front door and practically pushes it open in a major panic. His father and mother notice this and ask what's wrong. "Nothing, I just got invited to a party and it started at 7" "I gotta go get changed". As Hunhow runs upstairs, gets changed and 3 minutes later comes flying back down the stairs he is about to leave. But Jane stops him. "Hunhow, it's your first day and you're already making friends which is good". "But I'm not sure about letting you go to a party on a school night" Jane says. "Mom, it is not a big deal". "I'll literally be home before 11pm". Hunhow in a rush goes to leave for the front door. But Jane growls angrily at him. "EXCUSE ME, IM NOT DONE TALKING YET". Her sudden anger scares Hunhow cuz he jumps back. "Hunhow, I don't want you going out late and driving". "I'm worried they might serve alcohol and you might be unable to drive". Jane says. "Babe your overreacting" Joseph chimes in. "He's literally an adult now, he can take care of himself and he knows not to be drinking, Right Hunhow"? "Yes, of course". "Babe, let him enjoy himself, stop holding him down" Joseph says. "Sign.... Okay fine" Jane says reluctantly but finally agrees. "Be back by 11:00pm, NO EXCUSES" do you understand me" She says in a serious voice. "Yes, mom" Hunhow finally says. Hunhow turns around and makes a mad dash for the door. He closes it behind him and runs to his truck. He gets in and heads to the address.

~ 45 Minutes Later ~

Hunhow pulls into the driveway of a huge house. He gets out, locks his truck and runs to the front door. Luckily, Lizzie answers. "Oh hey" she says excitedly. "Sorry I'm late, my mom wasn't on board but my dad bailed me out". "She probably just looks out for ya" Lizzie says with reassurance.

~ Hunhow heads inside ~ He grabs some drinks and meets up with Crystal, Jennifer, and Marcus ~

"How's it going" Crystal says. "Pretty good" Hunhow describes his afternoon. He shows the photos of his military uniform and his squad and all his friends are quite impressed. Hunhow goes down to the basement with Marcus while the others stay upstairs and drink with everyone else. Hunhow and Marcus play pool and even ping pong. Hunhow isn't that good but manages to win by luck and the right timing. "You lucky son of a bitch" Marcus says. Hunhow is laughing hysterically. And continues to drink.

~ A couple hours pass and it becomes 10:24 PM ~

"Thanks for the party y'all, but I gotta head home now" Hunhow says. "No worries". "Safe travels" Crystal says. Hunhow leaves and gets into his truck and drives home. After 35 minutes he comes home. He exit's the truck, and heads to the front doorstep. He unlocks the door and is greeted by his dad. "Your few minutes early but I hope you had fun, bud" Joseph tells him. "Sure, did". "Can you tell mom I said thank you for letting me go"? Hunhow ask his father. "Sure, of course". "Welp time for you to head to sleep". Joseph says. "Alright goodnight". "Goodnight, son".

~ Hunhow plops down onto his bed and quickly doses off ~
