28: 15 years sentences

Myah shows the palm of her hand in front of Jake; he is shocked when Myah stands beside him as he contemplates her. Jake looks at her in confusion when she presents her hand like that. "You don't want to hold your girl's hand?" asked Myah with a cheerful smile. Jake smiles affectionately upon hearing that, slowly taking her hand, and they walk together as if it's their world.

"I'm sorry about earlier; I shouldn't have rejected you like that," said Myah. "Nah, you shouldn't apologize. I understand I shouldn't confess at this time," replied Jake. "Don't worry, Sunoo already blessed us." Myah waves her hand excitedly at Sunoo; Jake also waves his hand at him after saw what Myah did. Sunoo smiles at them warmly seeing how happy this couple are.

"Did you eat already?" asked Sunoo. As usual, he's the only one visiting Han in jail. No one else comes other than him. "Yeah, I did," replied Han. "How does the food taste? Is it terrible?" asked Sunoo, asking too many questions to ensure she feels comfortable in there.

"I don't care about it; at least I have something to eat," Han chuckles when Sunoo asks that kind of question. "Did anyone in there disturb you? If yes, tell me," as if he can protect her. "Tch, I can still fight if anyone disturbs me. How about you? I know people start bullying you again, right? I'm sorry I can't protect you," said Han, realizing that she's incapable of protecting Sunoo anymore.

"Yeah, a bit. But don't worry, someone would protect me," replied Sunoo. "Seems like you got another girl to protect you. Hmm, I got it, since I'm in jail, you must find another replacement, right?" Han sounds like she's sulking with jealousy when Sunoo tells someone is protecting him.

"It's not a girl, okay? Only you, the only girl, dares to protect me. It's Riki; I don't know why he's suddenly being kind to me," explains Sunoo. Han is glad it's not a girl after heard that. "Woah, seems like you guys got close now," teases Han.

"Actually, we were already close before, but yeah, he's kinda annoying. So, I hate him," explain him, not wanting to tell what happened between him and Riki before. He thinks it's enough for Riki to regret his wrongdoing and promise not to do that anymore. Han just laughs it off by his explanation.

"By the way, I heard your case will be heard in court next week," Sunoo slows his tone of voice. "Yeah, I don't think I'll be proven innocent though," replied her. She knows that without enough evidence, there's no point her case being taken to court. "I'll make sure to clear your name, Han. Please don't give up; wait for me," convinces him.

[16 November 2023: 11.00 AM: South Korea]

Han's case is being discussed in the high court of South Korea. She tells everything that happened during the night she stabbed her stepfather. Some of them in there don't believe her, but some do. One of them is Sunoo; he faithfully sits there watching Han's case being debated. Praying that the judge believes in her.

After that, they're given a rest before continuing back to discuss the case. Sunoo gives a sign to Han, telling her not to worry when her eyes stuttering like she's scared of what she's facing now. "Please, release her. She was innocent," mumbles him while putting his hand on his chest and closing his eyes to pray.

After 30 minutes, the rest hour is over. The case is being resumed. "Defendant 777 Han Yaera." The judge taps the gavel to get everyone's attention; the results are already in his hand.

"On 7 August 2023 at 1.18 AM, you were found with Kang Dosung's dead body full of blood. Due to a lack of evidence to show you're a suspect of murdering him, you're not being confirmed a murderer. You're given a 15 years prison sentence. Ultimate!" The judge knocks the gavel three times.

Some people start whispering with each other, hearing that result. Sunoo sighs because he thought Han would be released from prison. He needs to wait for 15 years for her release? Too long for him. Han lower down her head, thinking, is it fair to be given a 15 years sentence for killing someone who wanted to do something bad to her?

"Han, please stay in there. I'll help you myself," mumbles Sunoo; he's determined to shorten the period of her sentence. "If being a lawyer itself can solve this case, then I'll be the one." Sunoo decides to persuade his studies to become a lawyer just to help one and only his love.
