AMANDA
I TOOK A very short and quick shower changing into boyfriend jeans and long sleeved red crop top. I sighed trying to choose which shoes to go along with the outfit. Sometimes I really acted without thinking.
My ego is in the driving seat this time.
All I had to do was just say no to Kyle and I would be deep in the covers taking a long needed nap. Working long hours at the hospital was the only downside of this arrangement. Well including Kyle who was his own category of downsides.
"Please let me know why you didn't tell me Doctor Kyle was so fine?" Lisa asked folding her arms over her chest while standing in the doorway. She looked beautiful as always. Like everytime I heard his name, my heart squeezed.
"I did tell you."
"But not in great detail." I flung my arms in the air.
"Okay fine. He's hot. I know that. Yay. Big deal." She narrowed her eyes at the sarcasm dripping from my words.
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
"Uh no. Why would you think there was?" I applied bright red lipstick on my lips, still barefoot, succeeding in avoiding making eye contact.
"You've been acting strange since yesterday. You were literally on cloud nine and then this morning boom, cloud--let me see--zero. You're mopping around and its too sad to watch. So how about you just tell me what's going on." Hiding it was pointless at this point. Lisa would simply push till I spilled the beans.
I burst into ugly tears. She growned.
"What did he do now? I swear, when I get my hands on him this time..."
"Kyle and I kissed."
"Um... okay. So much for my professionalism speech."
"Well he actually kissed me and I allowed it. Hell I even kissed him back. Vehemently. I nearly jumped his bones in the hospital for crying out loud!"
"Yeah totally. That's something to cry about. Right?" I pulled my knees into my chest. My favourite crying position. Ugh I could be such a baby at times.
"No. That's not the problem." Lisa groaned.
"Then what's the problem?"
"Its just a lot..."
"Bitch just spit it out! You know I'm not good at this guessing or comforting business. I don't have the brain capacity for all that shit." I chuckled wiping my nose.
"You're terrible."
"And you're changing the subject."
She was right. She walked further into the room, taking a seat besides me on the bed. Calmly she asked,
"Was it really that terrible?" I laughed and turned to look at her with a wide smile on my face.
"That good huh?" I nodded.
"More than good. Ugh it was just so perfect. The way he kissed me, touched me, it was everything."
