AMANDA

"THIS IS EXHAUSTING. Whose bright idea was it to make pancakes this early anyway?" I snorted popping walnuts into my mouth.

"Yours of course. The one who's actually making them herself right now. I don't get what you're complaining about. You did this to yourself. Not to mention you're the only one who's going to eat them anyway." She glared at me furiously beating down the mixture.

"You're acting as if you won't have any." I shrugged with a wide smile on my face.

"I won't."  She gave me a look.

"Yes you will." She insisted.

"No I won't.

Pancakes are basically pure sugar at this point. They are high in calories, fat with all the butter I saw you dabbing in there and obviously sugar. They may be delicious but they lack protein and fiber. I don't want to be all bloated and sleepy at work. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Too much of those can lead to terminal chronic illnesses, acne to name a few. I have to say they really do wonders because your mood swings have been nearly impossible to keep track of lately. "

By the time I was done, my mouth was all tingling and Lisa was gaping at me like I just told her stars were fake.

"Okay. No pancakes for you then. That was definitely on me. Not one more doctor talks/shits anymore. It's times like these that I actually hate what you do." I chuckled playing with my breakfast.

"That actually has nothing to do with ne being a doctor. But they do make you sluggish and I have a big surgery today and the last thing I want to do is to be um... sluggish."

Being a doctor meant I had to follow a certain diet, not exactly a clean and strict one but I made sure my meals were as healthy as possible. But I drew the line when it came to weekends. Those ones were purely mine. I went all out sometimes, especially when it came to meat but I didn't make a habit of it.

Since I worked long hours and was mostly on my feet, I made sure I was always energised. Which was also an advantage because it meant burning more calories.

I tried hiding my grimace when Lisa stacked her pancakes on her plate. Which were surprisingly increasing with every second on which she added lots of honey, whip cream and even syrup. I cringed when she mounted another pancakes on top, making it six. I had heartburn from just looking at her breakfast.

"I saw that." She said taking out a fork and digging in.

"Yeah well I wasn't actually trying to hide it. Seriously how do you even maintain that body? I swear anyone would think you starve yourself." Lisa was beautiful with her evenly proportioned body. She was one of those people that could eat anything and barely gain any weight. It literally grated on my nerves. It was just what I needed. Another one of her superpowers.

She shrugged shoving another forkful, the thing literally dripping with everything.

"You're just jealous because you have to work twice as hard for your body and I don't. Well not really because I take part in another form of exercise. Which works wonders on burning all that extra fact. Trust me, it works. You should try it." She winked with a mischievous smile on her face.
