AMANDA
I WAS LOST alright. I cursed my Geography teacher for not including GPS location study in the lessons. I didn't exactly feel bright enough in that moment as Doctor Allan said.
Getting lost trying to get to Moonshine Loftus showed me just how much I needed to get out more. My phone kept buzzing and I knew it was probably Lisa lashing out at me for being late. I was barely hanging on to everything together.
With everything that had been going on lately, Samantha's intrusive yet suspicious suspicions about us. Her interest in our personal lives was still jarring to me. I knew there was something more. It made me wonder, not for the first time, whether or not she had feelings for him. The age difference was alarming but hey, who was I to speak?
It's not like my favourite song is 'age is just a number'.
It was always funny when people pushed down rules to others that they didn't want to apply to themselves. I wouldn't have cared even if Kyle was well into his fifties with a big belly and a bald head. That image which had once made me gag didn't seem that disgusting with Kyle's face on it. I rolled my eyes at the irony. I had a doubt about whether Kyle would feel the same way I did. Especially if I was that young to him. The age thing seemed to freak him out.
Allan's words were pushed to the back of my head, or rather I consciously shoved them back there. I didn't fully trust Kyle yet but that didn't mean I would believe anything people told me about him without first hearing the truth from him. I had done that twice and ended up feeling stupid both times.
Kyle deserved a chance to hear the things said about him and defend himself. I would give him the benefit of the doubt, not some random person who didn't mean anything to me. That would be the absolute betrayal to him.
But I would have been lying if I said his behaviour earlier hadn't worried me a little bit. My concern for how weird he had been was replaced by his parting words.
"You look breathtaking today. And I can't wait for our date."
Well I can't wait either Mr Kyle Griffin. I'm going to blow your mind away tonight.

"Really? You're seriously late. I gave you a ten minutes head start." I trudged to the table Lisa occupied, not taking the time to appreciate the posh setting of the place. Lisa was looking breathtaking in a white strap dress that somehow brought out the glow in her eyes. She huffed when I finally sat down with a huge grin on my face.
"Wipe that off your face. You're late and you made me wait for eight minutes." I rolled my eyes at her exaggeration.
"I'm sorry okay. You should have gave me a twenty minutes head start then. You know I don't really know this place. I got lost." I put my bag down.
"You look pretty today. What's up with that?" I waved a waiter over.
"Oh you're only seeing me now?" I turned the menu in my hands around.
"I was a little... preoccupied this morning." I chuckled.
Understatement of the century.
