AMANDA
"WHERE DO YOU WANT to go for lunch?" Lisa asked while focusing on the road while driving around.
It was a few minutes past two and we had been shopping for hours I was starving. Luckily the party started at half past six so we had a few hours till then.
After doing both our hair and nails I felt pampered. Although not forgetting how hungry I actually was.
"There are a few restaurants I've wanted to try out since we moved here. How about one of them? They're on my way from work." I suggested.
"Cool by me. This weekend has been the best. It's been a while since we spent some time together."
"Yeah I know. Thankfully we don't work on weekends. I've been dying to explore this city." She drove into a busy street looking for a parking spot. It being a weekend, people were out and about so it was hard finding open parking space. The street we were in was lined with numerous restaurants and stores all to choose from.
It made me wonder how a person could choose one from the other.
"I'm just going to park here then we can look around for any one we like by foot." I nodded and we got out of the car and she made sure to lock the doors before we went anywhere.
"Okay so which one?" She asked and the smell of different aromas attacked my senses and my stomach growled so loud I was a little embarrassed. Lisa raised her eyebrows at me with a questioning look.
"That bad huh?" She teased and I nodded laughing.
"You have no idea. So...do you have any recommendations? Have you ever been here before?"
"Yeah a couple of times. A few guys brought me here to grab a bite. Trust me, I made sure to go to a different restaurant each time. Imagine bumping into one of them when I'm with the other by accident. No thank you."
I shook my head at her. I sometimes wondered just how many guys she has been with. But to be honest I was afraid to know for certain. They do say ignorance is bliss. Whether it applied here didn't matter. I prefered not knowing frankly. Only in this case. There were a few cases in which I wanted to know everything with every fiber of my being.
"You're something else my friend."
We walked around trying to choose which restaurant to go to. My stomach, eyes and nose made the decision for me when we approached a restaurant at the corner of the street with a big poster sign of different kinds of delicious food. I was a meat lover so the steak was to my liking.
It was called the Blue Champ and I wondered exactly where that name was derived from. I couldn't for the life of me find any sentimental meaning behind it but I still very much wanted to experience all that Blue Champ had to offer.
We were greeted at the door by a nice looking gentleman who showed us to a quiet table at the far end of the restaurant. I liked the view we had from the glass walls on the side most tables were situated. I immediately fell in love with the cool atmosphere and just the feel of the place. A waitress came a moment later to set up the table and take our drink and food order.
"We're still deciding for now." She nodded as she took our drink order then left.
I wasn't exactly sure what people at gala dinners ate but I wasn't willing to wait around and find out with an empty stomach. I was going to stuff myself so much it wouldn't make sense. Hopefully jogging around at the hospital would burn all the excess calories I would surely gain over the weekend.
