|| Anakin's POV ||
Yoda took his time coming back. Anakin made it a point not to talk to Obiwan and Obiwan made it a point to stare at Anakin the whole time.
Padme had tried to break the silence and failed, Anakin felt guilty on that part because anything she had said to him he had replied with a clipped response and Obiwan had chosen to remain quiet. Something that would have thrilled Anakin if his former master would just lay off the death stare.
Anakin was no longer in a mood to reciprocate it. He'd let Yoda take the twins and they took up a lot of his mind, until he saw them again, his irritation and hatred towards Obiwan would be a second thought.
Eventually Yoda made his return.
The footsteps of the Jedi Master were the only sounds for a long time until Yoda appeared in the doorway making a "hmmpf" sound.
Nobody spoke, if anyone looked at the Jedi master, Anakin didn't notice, instead he looked at his hands trying to avoid what he knew was coming.
The sound of a chair being moved was unmistakable and Anakin felt like Yoda was taking his time on purpose to sike him out.
Eventually the Jedi master spoke.
"Good to see you, it is, Skywalker".
Anakin looked up, shocked, and Obiwan made a little noise much to Anakin's amusement.
Still his former master didn't speak.
Yoda continued turning his head to Padme.
"Much has happened, to both parties at this table, since last we spoke, fill each other in, we shall. But first, a chance to speak, I have granted Skywalker".
Anakin felt himself go red. He hadn't expect Yoda to be acting like this. Was it a trap? He had to treat it like it wasn't if he wanted any chance of redeeming himself and joining the rebels. Even if he could never fully redeem himself in his eyes.
Silence washed through the room after Yoda had spoken, and all the other 3 beings in the room turned to Anakin expectantly.
He had to say something. He just didn't know what. So he said the first thing that came to mind.
"You all lied to me".
Padme blinked, clearly not impressed with what Anakin chose to lead with and Anakin himself didn't know if it was a good idea.
But he had to get his feelings across before they could make any progress. At least that's what he had read in the baby books Padme has forced him to read on Coursant.
Although those books were about communicating with children, he figured Obiwan at least was at the same iq level.
Obiwan looked a little surprised by Anakin's remark, Yoda, however, merely laughed, a light in his eyes.
No one replied to his statement so Anakin continued. First he turned to Padme.
"You hid yourself and the twins for 6 months, I understand why you did it, but if I had known. Things could've been different."
He didn't know if the words he spoke were true or not but he kept going. Turning to Yoda.
"You hid my childrens and wife's presence from me in the galaxy. Don't deny it, only you have the power to do it from afar".
