last year in june, you were choking because i dared you to fit 20 marshmallows in your mouth or else i won't come with you to drink coffee outside.

we'd always laugh remembering how we both panicked that time. memories like those never really seemed forgettable. that's what i really adore about you. because you make those memories matter.

---

"years had passed, kimlip and i hope you never got tired of me yapping every single time" we sat beside the opened window, although it's windy.

she always likes it cold.

"there's a new coffee shop downtown, i'm thinking we should go this afternoon?" i asked.

"it always felt cold after you left, i cant even water our plants anymore and you know, the house we built, everything we share, it seemed like you took it with you" of course there is no response.

i looked at you and i couldn't stop thinking about what we had, how we started and all.

it brought me only ache.

---

and now i'm choking on my own tears because july is coming to its end and i hope we're not.

"it's not your fault" kimlip assured, laying down in a hospital bed. she held my head with both her hands and smiled for me. "it will never be easy, jinsoul but it will always pass"

"one more therapy, please. we will treat you, we will do everything. you told me i was the greatest doctor you ever met, right? and i'm gonna prove you–"

"you are the greatest doctor i have ever met, love. it's not gonna change" she stopped my blabbering using such a calm and in almost inaudible voice.

"please"

"i'm tired, jinsoul. everyone, our friends, my family. they already understood what i want. it's just you"

"tell me what do you want?"

"right now i just want to drink coffee with you" my eyes didn't have the time to even water, a teardrop just escaped and traveled down to kimlip's hands.

"how do you want it?"

"you know how i want my coffee"

---

i looked at her framed picture i placed beside the window and a smile was put on my lips.

i sipped on my cold coffee as the wind blows inside the house.

it felt like a hug from her, and it's warm.
