Y/n pov:

I wanted him to be safe and I wanted what was best for him. Was this really the best? It couldn't be. Even if he wanted to cease to exist, it didn't feel right.

I felt we could have had so much more fun together, that we could survive this world together. As long as we were together, I thought we could do this. That we would be okay.

Was I really that wrong?

I clutched my head in my arms, thinking.
Sitting on the floor, I felt my position become uncomfortable.

Aether and Paimon were talking on the other side of the room. "Paimon can't shake the feeling that something big has happened."

Kunikuzushi erased himself. Soon enough she won't remember him at all.

Will I forget him? I don't want to forget him...

I could still remember Greater Lord Rukkhadevata.

But somewhat... I wanted to forget. I wanted to forget Kunikuzushi, our past, my past life, everything.

Never had I wished so hard that I had a second reincarnation somewhere. That I could try one last time in a totally new life. And this time I would do my best to live a good life. I would even make a list of do's and don't's.

Aether and Paimon kept discussing about Kunikuzushi.

"You can't just rewrite history! All that stuff happened already in real life!" Paimon exclaimed.

Her words struck me a bit, remembering how my plan in this world was to rewrite history as well.
Perhaps the story just won't change, the fate of Teyvat is just unchanging.

I shouldn't have approached him at all that day. No matter if I was there or not, he still turned out evil in the end. And sure enough, I felt like this situation right here would've happened regardless if I was here or not.

My presence did nothing to change anything.
I was a side character, I was stupid to think I could've been anything more to anyone.

Tears prickled my eyes, and I felt my breath hitch. My arms clenched around each other in such a hard manner that it would surely leave a mark.

Paimon decided to distract herself by listing all of her favorite foods. A second later, I hear her listing more dishes than I've even heard of.

Then... she just stopped, she halted in her words.
I lifted my face from my arms and looked at her confused.

She then returned to reality.
"Uhm... huh..." she mumbled.

"What's wrong Paimon?" Aether asked her.

"Uh... what are we... what was Paimon supposed to be doing just now?" Paimon asked.

My eyes widened. I stood up and walked towards them, quickly wiping my hands over my face to remove tears.

"Paimon suddenly can't remember what she was talking about." She said.
Aether replied to her. "You were getting so worried about the situation with The Balladeer that you started listing foods."
