Audience: Author-san for god's sake is this bad ending you keep foreshadowing canon or not?

Audience: We forgive you

Tokumei and Hitori had one thing on their minds.

'...We kissed.'

The thought filled them with dread. It's not that they kissed, it's the fact that it feels awkward being around the other person now. Like they just said a while ago. They'd be friends. Until they're ready. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

KITA JUST HAD TO SUGGEST TWISTER.

That and Hitori still feels guilty for barfing afterwards. Tokumei doesn't hold it against her anymore, but he still feels the adrenaline rush from kissing his crush.

Ah, to be a hopeless romantic. It was incredibly painful. To make matters worse, they have to work... because they booked all the shifts for the summer. Which means... THEY HAVE TO SEE EACH OTHER BEFORE THEIR HANGOUT.

They'd like to see each other, but seeing each other's face instead of being on call just makes the romantic feelings worse. It was just a recent memory, but they're introverts who hate their pasts. Especially if it's amplified with failed romantic attempts.

Cringe moments and their seishun complex. Just cause them to go:

"...Hi," He said walking past her.

'...DOES HE STILL HATE ME FOR BARFING?' Hitori was overreacting to the situation.

She calms herself down. No. Hitori you know him better than this. A kiss is just a monumental thing for lonely people like them. He's just processing it in his own way. It would be immature to believe that things would be the same after... that.

She just keeps it to herself. She already asked him out to work on a project. It's nothing much. She just... needs some input from him. He's her friend first and foremost and she's going to make sure that their relationship is a string that can never be broken.

No matter how much she admires what he has... that she clearly lacks.

They both were greeted by Nijika as they went on to work.

Work was awkward. Like stupid awkward. Honestly, it was.

Because Nijika was there and she pretty much heard everything from Kita.

She was shocked at first, but the story was pretty funny. Although she'd rather spare Tokumei and Hitori from the emotional damage they'd get if they found out that Ryo laughed so hard. She did have some giggles herself, but she'll never say that. That's mean.

Don't get her wrong. She's entirely happy that Tokumei and Hitori were kinda going steady. The only issue is that they're avoiding each other like the plague. It was cute, but it's pretty annoying when they you know...

Have to work.

Together.

But every time she brings it up, they'd rather do their own thing instead. This continued up until the evening. Now Nijika may have a lot of patience, but even that has its limits.

"Guys, we gotta take out the trash," Nijika said.

"I'll do all of it," Tokumei grabbed all the trash bags and headed out of the establishment.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO NOT OVERWORKING YOURSELF?" She asked, but he was already out the door.

She looks at Hitori who breathed a sigh of relief that he was gone. Then, the pink bubblegum noticed the dorito looking at her. She looked around nervously, trying to find an excuse to not let Nijika make her interact with customers for today.
