My eyes opened when the sky was orange and purple. At this time, I would've jumped out of bed and hurried for training with Kayeel. But for today, that had to wait. I was in bed...with my mate and child. There was no freaking way I was getting up. No freaking way.

Awww...look at them. Aren't they just adorable? Kale drawled.

Lately, he usually didn't enjoy talking to me at all, especially in the mornings. Mornings for Kale were hell, according to him. He preferred the darkness and the moon. But if he had something worth exciting him, he definitely surfaced on an early morning.

'Sshhh! You're going to wake them up.'

They can't even hear me.

'But I can. And I'd prefer my morning rather quiet.'

Says the man who complained I didn't talk to him much.

'And then comes a day I don't wanna hear your voice...'

He snickered.

A shift on the bed startled me. It wasn't Leila. She was way fast asleep, she barely moved. But Rey's eyes were opened in a fraction, looking at me. I held still as if something unexpected would happen. Her eyes studied the other body that wasn't her mother's. She stayed like that for a while, looking at me, and I felt Kale cower under my skin.

"Stranger..." She mumbled in her sleepy voice, placing her arms under her chin. "...I didn't know you were here."

"Well..." I exhaled, relief pouring inside my lungs. "...Mommy told me I could give you company."

Her barely opened eyes blinked lazily at me. She was awfully silent before she said, "Okay."

"Okay?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Okay...o-okay."

"But I wanna get up now."

"Right now?"

She got up on her elbows. "Stranger, you ask questions of things I already say, a lot."

"The only problem is I never liked waking up at this time, at your age. It was way too early."

"But I've talked to you...and you've talked back. Talking usually wakes me up. I can't go back to sleep anymore." She sat up on the bed.

Again, Leila didn't even stir.

I whispered, "But mommy isn't even awake yet."

"So?"

"She doesn't look like she's going to wake up anytime soon."

"Correct."

Kale scoffed. So?

"She doesn't wake up at this time." She crossed her legs and I adjusted to give her space. "And if she does, she doesn't talk to me. I remain sleeping long enough until she wakes me."
