Rey was excited to see Rachel, and so was I. She had stayed behind to close up some errands. This place was beginning to feel lonely. I had missed her.

I hugged her after Rey ambushed her in a hug right when she stepped out of her car. The same car that had stopped by when I was lying half-dead in the middle of nowhere in my pack.

"Oh, I missed you guys a lot." She said as she stepped inside the mansion.

"I thought you'd forgotten about us."

She looked at me with a smile. "You know I would never. Especially this one who always jumped on me and stole my shoes for a test practice for when she gets older." She tickled Rey who clamped on her leg, and raised her to carry her.

Nick, Dana and Ana walked by the living room to welcome her. Rachel put Rey down and shook Dana's hand.

"Nice to meet you."

Dana answered, "Nice to meet you..."

"Rachel. I'm Rachel Simon."

"Dana. Nick's mother..."

"And the Luna...I know."

Ana quickly gave out her hand. "Ana, Nickolas' fiancée."

Rachel took it. "Ah! Fiancée..." She looked at me and didn't bother hiding her discomfort. "Well, this is new."

I wanted to rub the back of my neck from the irritation. "I forgot to say."

"Oh! Did you know back in Havenfield? Well, you did well to avoid him then."

I had to stop her from talking. "You didn't tell me how your journey was."

"Ugh! Tiring. My back feels like a stone. I would give anything for a spa day."

"Great. We could make plans." I also wanted some time with her.

"Later, darling. Right now, I need some sleep."

Dana said, "I'm sorry. I didn't catch how you are related to..." She didn't finish my name.

Rachel tilted her head, "To?"

I quickly cut in. "She helped me raise Rey."

Rachel said, "No no no, I picked her up in the woods when she was half dead. But also, I agree. I helped her raise this little cutie cutie..." She played with Rey's cheek.

Ana said, "Oh so you're like...her lover?" She sounded unsure of herself.

Rachel stood up straight with a flat face and I wanted the earth to swallow me. She sometimes had a short temper when she was tired and I didn't want her to make a bad impression...

She laughed...she then laughed again and my eyebrow unconsciously quirked.

"Oh, you're fit to be his fiancée." She looked at her with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "You have the same mind. See, he told me the same thing. But I'm curious..."
