~LEILA
I hugged him.
I didn't care that he didn't have any piece of clothing on him, I just hugged him and cried. Goddess, this was an overwhelming day. My daughter just returned and to add up on that, my best friend showed up out of nowhere.
I cried on his shoulder for Goddess knew how long. I missed his touch, the smell of his hair, the whisper of his voice in my ear. I missed everything about him. Goddess, I hadn't seen him ever since he had broken into Nick's pack to save me.
"Come on now, princess, don't make me feel bad."
I pulled away, still in tears. "Oh, you bastard..." I touched his face, making sure it was him. "I missed you so much."
He smirked, "I feared you would." But there was sadness in his eyes. "But you still owe me an explanation as to why I smelled your daughter lurking around the mansion."
I sniffed, "It's a long story."
"Luckily enough, I have time."
Nick's soldiers handed him some clothes to wear before going inside the mansion. Max never gave a damn about flashing his ass in public but he needed to put on something even if he held a grudge against Nick. I had a daughter inside and I didn't want her seeing him ass naked for the first time.
We went into the house where Dana and Rachel were showering Rey with kisses and tears. Dana carried her, hugging her tightly and Rachel detangled her messy hair, kissing her head every other second. When they saw me, Dana handed her to me and I held on to her.
"Hey there, princess..." Max caressed her hair with a smile. "...you good now?"
She nodded shyly and lay her head on my shoulder.
"You're gonna tell me the next time you try to act territorial, right?" He teased and Rey clung to me harder.
Max gave a low chuckle. "She's adorable. Reminds me of you."
I smiled.
His expression changed to concern. "We have a lot to talk about."
I nodded, "I know."
He nodded at Rey. "Get her comfortable. She's had a long night."
I nodded and buried my face in her hair no matter how dirty and smelly it was.
The omegas kindly drew a bath for Rey and went to prepare a room for Max. I went to the bedroom leaving Nick and Max in the living room. Nick had been tense ever since he arrived. I not only felt it, but saw him. His jaw was tight, I thought his teeth would have ground to dust. I knew leaving them in the same room wasn't such a good idea but I trusted the both of them to behave, especially when my pup was under the same roof, and most especially when I shot a glare at Nick, who was the least civilized lately.
