"It would be unwise for you, lycan king, to attack Edward when you are blind," Grace said.

"You do not have eyes inside his territory. It's risky." Adam added.

"You don't want to put your men up on that because I can assure you, you'll lose a lot of them even if it's successful." The other member of Leila's council, Matthias, said.

I sat back on my chair and sighed. Leila put her hand on mine soothingly.

We were back in the library discussing strategy...again, but coming up with nothing.

"We need to think of something smarter than him." Grace went on. "The last time you were at the pack, it was a trap and he almost killed the both of you."

"I was weak." I countered.

"You were careless." Max countered with a frown that I returned.

There was something wrong with both of them. Max and my sister. Ever since they woke up three days ago, they had been inseparable. And in an eerie type of way. Natasha's eyes looked red-rimmed and the light on them faded. There was darkness in them even when she kept saying she was okay after I asked her. The two spent the majority of their time at the training ground, and I swore she either got better or the ghosts of what she felt made her feral. Max also didn't speak of it. He pretended everything was fine until he exploded when I asked him for the fifth time and told me to drop it. And I knew something was wrong.

Whatever it was, it made both of them look tired and worn out. And Goddess knew how a tired person acted. They were all grumpy. At least Natasha apologised for it sometimes when she lashed at me.

"It doesn't matter," Grace said. "What matters is a safe way in and out."

I had sent word to each one of them about attacking Edward when he least expected it. Leila's council had shown up unannounced after they received the word. I wasn't even able to send word to my council when they called in for a meeting because they weren't sure it was a good idea. Only Kayeel had been the one to attend. She suggested calling in too many people can risk getting the word out about our plans. The only reason every one of Leila's council is in here is because they all missed home, and they'd do anything to fight the idiot who broke their home.

We hadn't even had breakfast and I was over this early morning meeting. I envied my mom who had opted out of attendance. She had frowned and complained it was way too early to think politics...mostly war.

Adam said, "We need eyes, Lycan king. We need spies."

"I have spies." I said, "In every pack. But Edward has blocked me out fully. Whatever charm he's using, I can't link them. I can't reach out to them. And if I sent in someone else, he'd know."

Grace said, "We could hire someone from another pack."

"That's also risky if it doesn't go well. I don't want to form another enmity with a pack just because I lost their spy."
