Yeri's POV

Blood kept oozing out of my wound. I felt pain but I was able to bear it. I closed my eyes and steadied my breathing. I knew if this kept on going, I'd lose lots of blood and, eventually I would lose consciousness within some time.

I wanted to try, but I knew there was no way to stop the blood. I closed my eyes and emptied my brain of any thoughts.

Slowly, my head started feeling heavy. I tried keeping my eyes open and focusing on the light bulb or the metal door or the sores in my wrists and ankles due to the chains, or the pain in my thigh or my hunger; just anything to keep me from passing out.

It kind of worked for a few minutes but soon I started seeing black and before I knew it, I had lost sense of my surroundings.

I came awake upon hearing two faint voices bickering amongst themselves.

I  let my eyes open and adjust to the dark once again. My vision was blurry at first, but then it cleared, and along with it, the voices too.

I was still strapped to the wall; my body still sore and stiff. My thigh was still in pain but for some reason my body had regained consciousness.

I moved my eyes to find Jungkook and a woman - perhaps in her mid forties - bickering.

"You may be my boss, Jungkook, but if you need her to stay alive, I'm gonna have to take her to the room and treat her. First you strap her to the wall, then you keep her without any food or water, then you make her bleed and tell me to 'fix her up' strapped to the wall?" she said with a hint of anger in her otherwise calm voice.

"You will do as I say," he insisted calmly yet fiercely.

"Fine then, go on and find some other doctor. I'm not treating her like this," she said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'll have my men put a table here and bring all of your equipment here. You can treat her, but she stays here."

The woman scoffed.

"You're insane, Jungkook. I may be a mafia doctor but I don't treat people inside dark concrete rooms with barely any light and on a table. Find someone else to do that for you."

"Okay, fine! Have it your way. Take her to one of the rooms and treat her. But she does what I say."

"And we can't leave her strapped to the wall after she gets treated, so she's going to use the room for herself, Jungkook."

He looked calm and his face stoic, even when he seemed to be annoyed.

"Fine, whatever you say."

He paused.

"Oh, and treat her mouth while you're at it; it's very big."

When he left at last, the female doctor sighed and looked at me.

I took in her presence for the first time. She was tall and good looking. Her auburn hair was tied in a bun. Her hazel eyes looked sharp and clever, yet kind and caring. Everything about her screamed the opposite of what Jungkook was.

"Oh, you're awake, Yeri. I'm glad. I apologize on behalf of Jungkook. I'm going to take you upstairs to the rooms and I'm going to treat you there, alright," she spoke.

I didn't know what to say so I just nodded. I didn't know if I could trust her or not. She was a stranger; more, a stranger who worked for Jungkook.

The doctor came closer to where I stood strapped to the wall and undid my chins with the keys she held in her right hand and then finally the parus.
