Yeri's POV

It was lunch time and I exited the building I worked at to go to a restaurant for lunch. Ha-Ri was here and she said she wanted to meet me over lunch.

I was walking to my car when I got a call from her.

"Hey, Yeri," came Ha-Ri's cheerful voice from the other side.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Hi, Ri Ri."

"Have you left yet?" she asked.

"No, I'm about to."

"Okay, just wait there for ten minutes. I'm on my way to pick you up."

"What's with the sudden change of plan?" I asked with a chuckle.

"I am close to your workplace, came for some work so I decided we'd head over to lunch together."

"Sounds great, I'll be waiting for you."

"Bye, see you."

I was about to tell her goodbye when my eyes landed on a male figure standing on the opposite side of the road. He was looking directly at me.

"See you, Ri Ri."

I ended the call with Ha-Ri and turned around to walk back to the building. I was about to enter when a hand caught my arm and turned me around.

I came face-to-face with Jungkook who stared intensly at me.

"Let me go," I hissed and freed my arm from his grasp.

"I've been trying to get you to talk to me for the past six months. Please, hear me out, just once."

His voice sounded like he was pleading me to talk to him.

"And I told you I don't want to talk to you, so quit following me around. I'm sick of this."

I turned around and went inside the company.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Maybe I should have listened to him, but I just wasn't ready to. He had let me go and I learned to do the same. But now he was here again and I was confused. I didn't want to give him a chance, but at the same time I wanted to listen to what he had to say.

I was saved from the agonizing thoughts when I got a text from Ha-Ri saying she was here.

I exited the building and saw her car. I walked towards it and got into the passenger seat. We greeted each other with a tight hug. It felt good to see her again after a few months of not meeting.

"Yeri, you look bothered," she said as she drove away from there.

I sighed.

"You can read me very well," I said.

She smiled.

"Best friends are supposed to be like that," she stated.

I nodded.

Even though I had Ashley and other friends, still, Ha-Ri was so much easy to talk to and discuss stuff with. Plus, she also knew my situation and besides, we had spent enough time with together to know each other inside-out which made things really easy for us.

"Talk about it over lunch?" she asked.

"Yeah, that'd be great."

Soon, we were sitting in a restaurant, ordering our lunch and admiring the interior of the place.

"So, tell me, what has been bothering you?" she asked. "You were fine over call. So I'm guessing something happened after our call."

I nodded.
