Jungkook's POV

When Kim was taking his final breaths, I stood above his head.

Blood was gushing out of his body. His face was damp with blood and tears. I couldn't help the laugh that left my mouth.

I bent low to his level. I had slashed out every part of his body except his eyes and ears. I wanted myself to be the last thing he saw and heard.

His bruised eyes trailed to mine.

"She was never my weakness, you son of a bitch."

Venom laced my voice as I spoke and it increased with each word.

"She is like my new found strength. If I thought I was powerful before, I'm invincible now. And if it wasn't for her I wouldn't even be standing here alive. It is she whom I drive my strength from."

He said nothing.

How could he? His vocal cords had gone numb due to the amount of screams he had let out. How could he say anything? I had sewn his lips shut.

I laughed again and straightened back up. He had gone far beyond any kind of help.

As I watched him heave his last breaths I felt a sense of accomplishment. But I didn't kill him. I watched him suffer in pain as he went unconscious and then regained consciousness. Tears constantly left his eyes but he could do and say nothing.

For a long time I watched him cry and bleed out. It was clear he would die any second now. Most of his bones were broken. His flesh was slashed and cut and torn out. He lay there on the ground in his own blood, unable to even breathe properly.

Finally he took his last breath and with it, everything regarding him ended.

But I didn't stop. I circled him and took in the damage I had done. And then I fired. The bullet went straight into his heart but his body showed no response. But I did not stop firing until all of my bullets were inside his body.

Once I was fully done, I left the place. As I walked outside I could see the sun shining with its morning light. It was finally daybreak after a long night of war.

My men came to me but I could ask for reports later. Right now I had to get to her.

Sitting in one of the vans, I drove off to the hospital. Once I reached there and went inside I was immediately informed of her room number.

When I finally made it I saw Taehyung standing in front of the door.

I ran to him. Upon seeing me, he smiled faintly and engulfed me in a tight hug.

"You're alright," he said with a sigh of relief.

"How is she?"

His face fell instantly and I felt my stomach drop.

"Doctor Park has been operating on her for a few hours now. I'm not sure when she'll be out."

I felt the worst I had felt in a long time.

"It should have been me who took that bullet," I said with rage which soon turned to tears.

Taehyung hugged me again.

"Stupid.... stupid.... Yeri," I said between sobs. "Why did she have to be so heroic? Since the time she has come it is always her who has taken away all the hardships and pain on herself. And she has turned my life a heaven for me. Hyung..... I won't be able to bear it if something happens to her. I-" my voice broke.

Hyung held me close and tried to soothe me.

"I don't think she would have been able to live with herself if she had just let you take the shot."

"And what about me? Can I live without her?"

He said nothing but hugged me as I kept on crying.

After long anguishing hours which felt like eternities, Doctor Park walked out of the room followed by other surgeons and nurses.

When she looked at me, her face turned emotionless and I had to brace myself for everything she was going to say. She scanned me and Taehyung.

"Follow me," she said after disposing off her over-alls.

We followed her to her cabin silently. When she had taken her seat her eyes found mine and I held my breath.

"I'm glad you are alive, Jungkook," she said.

Her eyes trailed to my arm where the bullet had grazed me.

"We'll have to do something about that, but nonetheless, it makes me relieved both of you are back, safe and sound."

"And what about Yeri?" I whispered.

She took in a sharp breath and her eyes landed on Taehyung's for a moment before coming to mine again.

"You'd have to be very patient while I tell you this. You have to understand each and every word," she said.

I gulped and felt my heart stop.

"We have operated on the bullet wound and it has successfully been removed. She lost a lot of blood but thankfully we had some blood available and Doctor Kim donated his blood for her as well. So we were able to handle it. Of course it will take time to heal. You should be thankful it wasn't her heart. I'm not sure.... I wouldn't have been able to keep her alive. Two of her ribs are broken, her arm is fractured and so is her right ankle. We have bandaged them and she is being given medicines for it. All across her body we found many bruises and a knife gash on her left thigh too. Both of her knuckles were badly wounded. And the wounds were made by her own self. I'm guessing she punched someone? In any case, they've been tended to, as well. Since she had trouble breathing on her own, we have given her oxygen. The slashes on her back-"

Doctor Park paused and took in a sharp breath.

"The marks on her back, they have been cleaned and bandaged as well. Since Yeri is a fast healer her body will heal naturally. She will recover soon. Her vitals are still weak but we hope she'll have them back up soon."

I remained quiet while Taehyung thanked Doctor Park for tending to her.

"There is one more thing you should know," she began.

I felt my heart twist and drop. Something was wrong and I could sense it then and there. A sense of dread filled me even before words left Doctor Park's mouth.

"Yeri is in a coma and.... we do not know when she will wake up," she said quietly.

I felt the weight of the universe collapse on my shoulders.

"That can't be right surely," I said looking between her and hyung.

Doctor Park looked shattered while Taehyung had his jaw clenched.

"No, no, she'll wake up though. Right?"

Doctor Park's eyes wouldn't meet mine.

"I'm not sure, Jungkook," she said sadly.

I said nothing. I couldn't say anything. I just turned around to leave after getting the confirmation that she wasn't waking up. I could hear Taehyung talking to her in the background but all I saw was black. Doom.

I shivered as the thought of her not being there crossed my mind.

I didn't know when it was that Taehyung joined me. At first, he just hugged me briefly. But when tears fell out of my eyes, he brought me fully into his embrace.

"Hyung," I sobbed helplessly.

His arms around me tightened.

"Hyung, what if she never comes back to me?"

A sob wrecked my body as I said that and Taehyung tried to soothe me.

"I'm not sure, Jungkook, I'm not sure," he said sadly and I felt something wet on shoulder, making me sob harder and give in to my fears for once.
