Yeri’s POV

Almost a week had passed since the mission. I hadn’t seen Jungkook much. He was always away on missions and when he came he was usually in his office. He spent most of him time there when he wasn’t gone.

After that night, it had taken a lot from me to calm down my mind but I had eventually gotten there and was okay. Jungkook hadn’t talked to me about the particular topic thankfully.

I went down to eat my dinner as I thought about my life from a few months ago. I was free; now, I wanted to do nothing more than to just complete whatever plan Jungkook had for me and then runaway – if I remained alive after that.

I went into the dining room to find Jungkook sitting there. I was a little surprised to see him there. When I came inside he took no notice of me and continued eating his food. I reluctantly sat in my usual chair and began eating as well, trying my best to hurry up and ignore him.

Dinner was silent. After I was done eating, I got up to leave, but Jungkook grabbed my arm harshly and pulled me down.

“Sit.”

His voice was deep and extremely commanding. I had no choice but to oblige.

“You’re okay, I see,” he said in a voice that screamed he wanted me to be the opposite of okay. And he made sure to make it obvious.

I looked at him, studying his eyes that were devoid of emotion yet again.

“Why wouldn’t I be?”

He scoffed and folded his arm over his chest, pinning me down with his cold glare. It was as if he was wanting his glare to do all those painful things to me that he wanted to do to me.

A moment later he got up and left without another glance at me. After registering his cold demeanor once again, I too left and went to the room that was assigned to me. Once my head hit the pillow, I was fast asleep.

I was eating alone in the morning, reading a book that I had found in a shelf near Jungkook’s office on the third floor. I felt unusually pleasant and smiled as I read another chapter.

Ah, books.

Just then a maid entered the room in a hurry. She stopped near me and greeted me.

“Morning, Miss Kim. How are you today?”

“Good morning. I’m well,” I replied.

“Miss Kim, Master wants you to come to the meeting room right now,” she told me in a hurry and left.

I turned to my almost untouched food but
I didn’t feel hungry anymore. Pushing the food aside for the maids to clear, I got up from my chair and walked towards the meeting room.

The doors were closed as usual. When I opened them, I found Jungkook standing near the huge windows; looking outside.

When I cleared my throat to make my presence known, without looking at me he gestured for me to take a seat around the huge table where he did all of the planning. After I had settled down, he too came to sit on the head chair.

“Where are the other men?” I asked him.

“We will be going on this mission alone.”

“Okay.”

“Now, listen here. I don’t want you to mess this up. This is the man we have to kill. His name is Jeon Hyun-Woo.” He snapped at me.

He showed me a photograph of the man he was referring to. I nodded and he continued.

“I recently found out that some of my men are working with him and some of his have come to me. They have been telling him of my moves. I have suspected that for quite some time now. But now, I have proof. And I have found out which of my men are working for him from the inside. I cannot let that happen anymore. We need to kill Hyun-Woo and get rid of his men working within my ranks.”

I nodded.

“At midnight, we will be going to Hyun-Woo’s mansion. I have already stationed my men there who will let us in. There is a single set of stairs in the back of the mansion which leads to the third floor. Using them you will go to the balcony. The door will be open.  From there, you will have to go left and to the end of the corridor where you will come across a set of stairs. Going down then and to the end of a hall, you will see a door. Go inside and you will find Hyun-Woo’s room. Once you get there, all you have to do is knock out his girlfriend who will be sleeping in his bed.”

He paused.

“Hyun-Woo himself won’t be in the room. He takes a stroll around his mansion each night at midnight. You will be using the stairs so that he won’t catch you around the place. By the time you knock his girlfriend, he would be returning back to his room. In the meantime, I would also be there. When he comes to his room, he is all mine.”
He said the last line with almost a snarl.

There was a pause in which I contemplated whether to ask my question from him or not.

“Can I ask you something?”

He just looked at me so I continued.

“Is he your relative? Jeon Hyun-Woo?”
Jungkook sighed but his eyes were devoid of emotion yet again.

“He is my cousin; yes, we are related by blood.”

“I’m sorry for asking, Jungkook,” I told him genuinely.

Family matters were sensitive and fragile no matter the one handling them was the biggest mafia ever. Jungkook didn’t say anything regarding my apology and looked away.

“We do this at midnight. Suit accordingly; do not come naked,” he added in a strict tone.

After weeks, I smirked. I didn’t know what had gotten into me, but suddenly I wanted to be mischievous with the most cruel, most heartless, most ruthless and most dangerous mafia known to the mafia world. I wanted to push my luck; see what he would do - if he would kill me or not.

Maybe I was reckless and maybe I didn’t value my life, because how angry he was in that moment, he could have stuck a bullet in my temple and not even regret it.

“But I never came naked anywhere near you,” I told him innocently; batting my eye lashes, “but I could if you wanted,” I added, moving closer to him.

Jungkook just kept looking at me and didn’t say anything. He didn’t even flinch or react when I came behind him and purred in his ear.

“Tell me, Jungkook, what do you want? Don’t deny the fact that you liked what you saw weeks ago,” I whispered in his ear and I saw his jaw tense.

“Enough, Yeri,” he said and got out of his chair, but I blocked his way.

Without sparing me a glance, he moved to the side to go out. And I let him; he wasn’t mine to stop after all.
