Yeri's POV

I woke up in my bed, feeling refreshed.

I smiled as I sat up and the sudden thought that Mina had finally left, hit me. I was relieved when she had said she would be leaving the next day and like she said, she was gone by noon the next day. I sighed in content. No wonder I was feeling so refreshed this morning.

Getting out of bed, I stretched a little and yawned in satisfaction. Then I made my way towards the bathroom and took a long hot shower.

After getting dressed into something comfortable, I made my way downstairs to eat.

"Good morning, Miss Kim," a maid said to me as she put food in front of me.

I smiled at her.

"Good morning," I replied.

"You seem happy this morning," she said.

I nodded and she gave me a knowing smile.

"Enjoy your breakfast, Miss Kim," she said and then left.

I smiled again as I inhaled the scent of my food and then took a bite out of it and hummed in satisfaction.

Every little thing seemed brighter and happy now that Mina had finally left.

After eating, I went out into the gardens again and spent most of my day there.

The gardener, Woo, was a nice old man and he told me a lot about different kinds of plants.

"Some of us have seen Master grow up," he told me as he worked into the flower beds and showed me how to do it as well.

"My family has been working for the Jeons for years. When it was my turn and I came here, I was a middle-aged man. Master Jeon hadn't taken up his place in the mafia yet. A few years after he took his father's place, he married Miss Jeon," he told me and smiled.

He was talking about Jungkook's parents.

"Then they had a son. He was like both of his parents. I saw him grow up and loved him like my own grandson. And he loved me. He certainly loved me," he said with an almost sad smile. "But then, Miss Jeon died. Master Jungkook wasn't the same after her death. Two years later, Master Jeon died as well and Master Jungkook had to take up the mafia. He was just a child back then. Those who know him now think of him as a cold murderer. He wasn't like that always. He was the most mannered, the sweetest child anyone would come across. But their deaths made him the man he is today; or rather the mask of the man he shows to the world."

He then looked at me.

"You must believe that Master is not a bad man, Miss Kim. His heart is still the heart of a child only wrapped inside ice that needs to be melted by love and warmth. And perhaps you can be the one to melt that ice and burn his heart with a fire and make it alive."

"But I'm here only for a mission. Your Master doesn't need someone like me. In fact, he's better off without me. I'm here just as a prisoner of his; nothing more," I told him.

"You do not understand anything, Miss Kim. Master may have brought you here for a mission but why he doesn't allow you to go outside is because he wants to protect you," he told me.

"Protect me from what? I can do that myself."

He shook his head.

"You do not understand."

"Then make me understand."

"That is not for me to do. You must understand everything by your own self."

"And what if I just wanted to leave?"

"That is up to you, Miss Kim. Either you melt his heart, or you don't. But whatever path you take, just don't break it. Because Master's heart is the most fragile thing you will come across," he said. "Now you must go. It is getting dark. Master Jeon wouldn't like it if he saw you here."
