Yeri's POV

I went down the stairs and towards the dining room to eat. A few minutes after I had settled in, a maid came to give me my breakfast.

"Has Jungkook gone already?" I asked her.

She didn't reply.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"Mr. Jeon was in a mission last night and he got shot," she told me.

"He's what? Is he all right?"

"He is all right. He is currently at the hospital under Doctor Park's supervision and he will be discharged soon," she informed me calmly.

They had perhaps dealt with much more dangerous and threatening news than this and it didn't surprise me at all.

I slumped back in my chair, not feeling hungry anymore. This was what came with being part of the mafia; havoc, war, rage, bloodshed and death.

"Alright, thanks for telling me. Inform me once they discharge him and he comes home."

She nodded and then left. I looked at my untouched breakfast. Then pushing my chair back, I got up and exited the dining room.

Not knowing what to do because I suddenly felt very down after knowing about Jungkook, I let my feet carry my wherever they wanted to.

In a few minutes, I found myself standing in front of Jungkook's office on the third floor. I opened the door and went inside.

Nostalgia from last week hit me as I made my way towards the cushions where I had sat, before I had had a very good time with Jungkook.

Now he was sick and alone. I hoped they were taking good care of him at the hospital and were spending time with him.

I picked up the book and then made myself comfortable on top of the cushions.

Unknowingly, I glanced towards his table and I felt my heart clench for some reason.

However powerful he may think he was, he could never escape it as long as he was in the mafia.

It would only bring him torment – physical, mental and emotional.

When I thought about how I hated Jungkook when he first brought me here, it all seemed so far away and unreal.

The past few weeks with Jungkook had been life changing to say the least. I never knew the person he hid behind that mask; a person who still retained humanity inside him, despite making himself look like the monster.

Sighing, I opened the book and resumed reading to where I had last left.

I spent most of the day reading the book, eager to finish it and because I had nothing else to do. In the evening, a knock sounded on the door. I told whoever it was to come in.

"Miss Yeri, Mr. Jeon is back. He is in his room currently," a worker informed me.

"Okay, I will go see him right away."

She then left, leaving me alone. I closed the book and put it away. Exiting the office, I went downstairs and towards Jungkook's room.

I had never been inside his room before since I had never had the need to go in there. My heart raced inside my body as I turned the door knob and pushed the door open to step into the room.

I closed the door behind me and then slowly, I took a step forward.

Jungkook's room was just as big and luxurious as mine with a big TV, gaming equipment, a plush rug in front of his huge master bed, the light colored curtains, the walk in closet, the delicate lamps and the beautiful furniture.
