Yeri’s POV

My eyes slowly opened and I felt my body feeling numb due to the drug I had been given to inhale earlier.

Once I could feel that I was in my senses, I looked about my surroundings to find where I was. I let my eyes adjust to the unfamiliar, almost dark room that I found myself in.

If it wasn’t for the small light that hung from the centre of what seemed to be the ceiling of the room I was in, I wouldn’t have been capable of even knowing that I was in a room with no windows or anything but just a heavy metal door that stood on the opposite wall facing me and that was the only source of entrance in the room.

The walls of the room were grey and solid concrete. The room was empty, cold, and didn’t give me a very good feeling.

I tried moving but my body felt secured against something. I felt something cold and hard against my wrists and ankles. I had been strapped to a concrete wall with chains.

Moreover, there was a heavy metal parus in my neck. There was no way of getting out of there easily.

I took a deep breath and thought of ways to get out of the room. I considered every possibility of breaking out of the strange room. And the more I thought about staying here longer, the more I didn’t have a good feeling about the place.

I knew this place was trouble, but my gut was telling me that something worse was behind all of this.

Gulping, I closed my eyes. If only I could break the metal chains that wrapped around my wrists and ankles, things would get easy.

But whoever had brought me there and strapped me to the damn wall had made sure there was no way of me getting out of the chains.

I was immersed in thinking, when I heard a click like that of a heavy lock opening and then another one.

I opened my eyes and found the metal door opening slowly, and immediately two men stepped inside, and then another man - taller, more muscular and buff - entered after them; no doubt he was their boss.

I couldn’t see any of their faces, but I had my guard up – not that I could fight in the position I was in, but still.

The taller man faced my direction while the other two stood in front of the door as if I would break free and they were there to make sure something like that didn’t happen. I rolled my eyes inwardly at that.

The taller man turned to the other two men and whispered something. They immediately nodded respectfully and opening the door, they left after which two clicks were heard and I knew the door had been locked once again.

I didn’t say anything and kept myself calm. The man slowly took steps forward and stepped into the light.

When I saw his face, fear and horror struck me; fear, like I had never experienced before.

His eyes were cold and hard, devoid of any emotion. His face too, was emotionless. I wasn’t scared because of his appearance or because of who or what he was. Rather, I was afraid that the life I had left long ago would come back for me because of him and I didn’t want that.

He grinned in a humorlessly cold way and then advanced towards me. He stopped inches away from me, the grin still on his devilishly handsome face.

If I hadn’t known who he was, I would have even admired that face and maybe smiled at it. But, I knew him and I knew all behind that face.

On his right eyebrow were two piercings and there was another one on the right side of his lower lip. A faint scar ran diagonally across the left side of his face, starting from his cheek bone. His skin was smooth and looked soft; his lips pink and full. He was clad in all-black which made him look intimidating; scary.

“Welcome to my humble abode, Princess Yeri Kim,” he said in a cold, husky and lazy voice making chills run down my spine and the hair on my nape stand up in fear.

“Why did you bring me here?” I asked him.

“Straight to the point I see. That would help me a lot indeed,” he said, a smug smirk plastered on his face. “Time will tell all. For now, you must wait and wait patiently.”

“I have nothing to do with you, Jeon fucking Jungkook; I have nothing to do with this life,” I spat at him.

His expression didn’t change but became smugger. He chuckled darkly.

“I told my men you knew me but they wouldn’t believe me. Seems, I gotta teach them guys a lesson,” he said lazily and threw his head back, revealing a little more of his neck and veins.

Then he looked at me again. He came even closer until there was too little space left between us. He brought out his hand and grazed my cheek.

One might feel affection from such an act, but I knew his touch was trouble because it told me all I needed to know.

“Don’t you dare touch me,” I said, trying to become one with the damn wall, but failing badly.

“You look like a helpless piece of shit,” he said with a venom-laced voice. “If I didn’t have need for you, I would have killed you the first time you cursed under my roof.”

There was a pause.

“But, who knows if you don’t behave, I may have to kill you,” he stated; dragging each word.

In a moment, his gun was out and the cold tip was pressed harshly to my temple. I almost winced because of the pressure he put on my temple, but I managed to keep a calm face.

“Oh, and about this life? It was never yours to choose; it was chosen for you long ago, like it was did for me,” he said before turning around and leaving me there yet again.

I was in the biggest mafia ever known to the world’s lair. Life was only going to get worse from here on and I knew it.
